Hutong style crispy roasted pig:
It was a delight to order this because it was presented nicely on a wooden board, everything was neatly sliced and cut.
As well as cucumber, there was melon too to accompany the crispy roasted pig.
This is basically a Hutong suckling pig eaten in a Beijing style way wrapped in a pancake.
They give you honey mustard sauce as well as the traditional BBQ sauce with a side of salad in sesame dressing.

Personally I liked traditional BBQ sauce but jam, English mustard or Dijon mustard would also taste great with it.
Anyway the pork was amazingly crispy and the fat was burnt off leaving deliciously crispy skin and tender pork which tasted so good with the sweetness of the melon, cucumber and the smokey BBQ sauce.

This was the winner of all dishes!!!
The presentation was amazing with golden jelly in the middle.
I liked the layers of cracker, jelly, cucumber and pork but the only problem was that it was a bit fiddly to eat which I resolved by biting into two layers at a time.
The savouriness of the pork paired with crisp cucumber slices and sweet osmanthus pudding was just bliss and the crunch of the cracker on the bottom gave it more mouthfeel.

The salad in the modern metallic bowl was delicious because the sauce was strong and you could taste quite a bit of peanut butter which strangely tasted nice in the salad.

因為前日在薈景吃過好咪的烤鴨,忽然就引發起好想吃烤鴨,使我想起大都烤鴨,但由於佔中關係,交通較塞,所以都是不宜放工轉程跑去尖沙咀為吃隻鴨,想起家附近有這間才開了幾個月的京菜店,便二話不說,一於下班回家前吃完才回家。這店開張時,坐位都好爆,但今天可以直入,心想,是時間還早嗎?也許未到7點,好多人都未下班回到將軍澳吧。但當我吃過這頓飯 都大概明白點解咁易有位!叫5樣食物,只得個前菜馬蘭卷我覺得是好味之外,其它都真的不太入流,最差是個手抓餅,它是我吃過最差的一個手抓餅囉,不鬆化 ,又多油,又硬!烤鴨不能跟大都烤鴨比,我覺得好有距離。至於個胡桐烤豬,皮是脆,但附著的肉烤得好實,吃起來有痴牙感覺,加埋佢地那小碟的配菜小得好孤寒,但吃咁油的烤豬沒加多青瓜類會很油利,口感不清新,但配菜要加的話就得多付$10,一碟!既然都不太好吃,我才不會再加!隨便的吃完就拜拜好了。最後那個手抓餅是原封沒動過的。我自己的評價是,不會再來 也沒興趣再試別的菜色,因為一間餐廳,我叫五個菜 只得一個過得去,那麼用這個比例來算,我吃到好味的菜的機會率是好低囉。

With a huge poster stating that they have a lunch set for $48, which included 6 options ,And I decided to give this place a try. The lunch set also included soup and steamed rice. For the wallet watchers, this place does not charge service fee. Thus, not only is it inexpensive to eat here, you get to enjoy the new opening of the restaurant. With that in mind, it was food time!

一踏進門口,就能看到這個當作屏風的方格櫃子,感覺有點像舊式用在擺放古董的大櫃,每個小格上也放有一些玻璃及青銅製品,加上射燈的照射上,顯得格外貴氣

Once you're inside, the decor of the restaurant has screens for cabinets much like the old days, so the feeling of nostalgia comes quite quick with these features. On each of the cabinets, there are glass and jade displays, and with the lightening on them, you get a sense of "posh" class in this place.

店內裝修以木紋及條紋為主,感覺既簡約又不失大體,天花上吊著一個個玻璃燈罩,像一杯杯倒掛的酒杯,另外還有數把吊扇,為餐廳增添一點中國情懷。舖內坐位不算太少,主要以卡座及大圓枱為主,位置不算太迫,可能是由於新開的關係,所以即使在午飯時段也仍有位置

In terms of the decoration, it mainly consisted of using wood and colour stripes as theme, which makes for a simple yet elegant design. The ceiling has some glass lamps, quite similar to upside down wine glasses. Some fans are hanging down from the ceiling, adding more to the nostalgic feeling. The seats are not plenty at this place, most of them being cart seats and round tables, but the place is not cramped. Since the place just opened, it was still possible to get a seat right away during lunch hour.

最引人矚目的相信會是這個半開放式的廚房,不但能看到大廚們包製點心的情況,而且設計獨特,廚房內有一間以磚頭砌成的小屋,內裏放有餐具,不知還有沒有其他實際用途~

Most eye catching part of this place is the open style kitchen, not only can you see the chefs' preparation of the dim sum and other dishes, the unique design of the restaurant makes the kitchen seem like a small cozy brick house. There was utensils inside of the kitchen, but I'm not sure what else it can be used for.

點餐紙上不單有午市套餐供選擇,還有涼滬小炒及飯麵,另外還有一張點心紙,點心的選擇比一般酒樓少一點,但多了涼滬小食類~較為特別的是「雀籠點心」,當中包括了6款點心:晶瑩鮮蝦餃、滬家小籠包、蘿蔔絲酥餅、姬松茸遼蔘粉菓、黃橋燒餅及正東生煎包,每款各兩件,索價$138,以籠子所盛載,非常特別~可惜只有一個人吃飯所以不能試了~

On the menu, there is also a menu for other cold dished appetiser, rice dishes and noodle dishes. There was also a dim sum menu, although it is not much options compare with the usual big banquet restaurants. However, there is a unique dish called [ 雀籠點心], which includes 2 sets of the following dim sum: 晶瑩鮮蝦餃,滬家小籠包,蘿蔔絲酥餅,姬松茸遼蔘粉菓,黃橋燒餅and 正東生煎包.The price is $138 and it's uniquely presented in a traditional bamboo made steam cooking cage. Unfortunately, this kind of dish is not for a single diner, so I opt out to try it.

而我這次就點選了午市套餐中的糖醋魚塊~喜歡酸酸甜甜的感覺~亦比較醒胃~點好菜後,店員為我送上一壺普洱及熱水,還附上了一只大碗,非常了解港人的習慣,要先清洗一下餐具才使用。這裏的茶壺比傳統的大個,雪白的胖胖的,感覺可愛,但相對上也比較重身,拿氣時需要點力氣呢~蠻喜歡這張圖片,帶點中西合壁的感覺

As mentioned above, I decided to go with the sweet/sour fish from the lunch set for this occasion. Mainly due to my affinity for the taste of sweet/sour, and not to mention it stimulates my appetite. After I placed my order, the waiter gave me a pot of "pu-er" tea and hot water, and also a big bowl, for the typically hk "wash your own utensils before you eat" routine. The pots used here are a bit bigger and heaver than the traditional ones, so when you pour with them, you got to lift them with a bit of strength. I really like this photo I took, which brings out the fusion of East and West.

胡同鴨湯
平時比較少喝到鴨湯,以陶瓷小燉盅所盛載,上面佈滿了疑似是一片片咸菜~先試一口鴨湯~看似清淡的鴨湯想不到鴨香還真濃郁,但味道有點(騷),害怕騷味的朋友可能對這個鴨湯會有點抗拒吧。一片片咸菜,口感帶點滑及非常軟身,吸收了鴨湯的精華並帶少許咸味,味道不錯。另外,還加入了豆腐一起煮燉,不過用上了硬豆腐,經燉製後質感十分粗糙,所以吃了一口便算了

The Soup
Although I do not drink this type of soup much, this soup was placed in porcelain pot with lid, with a layer of salted vegetables. Upon one taste of this soup, I must say I was impressed that the soup was both light yet heavy with the duck taste at the same time. However, there may be a strange pungent smell to those who typically do not drink duck soup. With the salted vegetables, the duck soup base itself blends quite well with the salt from the vegetables, thus making the tasting sensation quite an experience.

來到時已聞到陣陣開胃的甜酸味,一碟若有5至6塊,每塊的大少相若,橙黃色的甜酸醬稀調程度適中,於燈光下閃閃發光,每件魚塊也能平均地黏上醬汁,除了魚塊外,還有菠蘿粒、青椒粒及洋蔥絲等材料作調味

I was able to sense the smell of this dish before it was placed on the table, with 5 to 6 pieces of fillet, the coating of the sauce is well spread to each pieces. Besides the fillets, there were small pieces of pineapples, peppers and onions to balance the taste.

拍過照後趕快一試,咬下去時熱辣辣,即使已被甜酸汁浸了一段時間,但外皮漿粉仍保鬆脆,明顯是即叫即炸。再看看內部,薄薄的脆漿包裹著雪白的魚柳,肉質富彈性而且嫩滑,能清楚知到魚柳的條紋,不似一般以冰鮮雪魚柳製成,毫無口感可言。而甜酸醬的酸度較甜味重,配上魚塊同吃,醬汁的味道不會蓋過了炸魚的香氣。而作為配料的菠蘿也擔當著重要的角色呢!菠蘿經炒製後,水份仍然充足,清甜之中帶點微酸,一口炸魚一口菠蘿粒,減低了炸魚的膩感,把一整碟吃完後再想再吃呢!少有的在午飯時段能吃到這個水準的小菜,吃得出用心製作!

After some photo shoot of the dish, it was time to let my taste buds have a go at this dish, which was still steaming hot. Even though the sauce has soaked into the fillet a bit, the coating of the same is still crispy, which means that they prepare it only after you have placed your order. The fillet was tender and it was quite obvious that this was not your typical frozen market fillets. The sweet/sour sauce was quite vinegar heavy, but it did not block out the taste of the fish itself. The addition of pineapple bits was also a nice touch, balancing the salty taste of the fish and and sweet/sour sauce. I was amazed that I can finished the entire plate myself as I rarely seen such preparation caliber of food being served at lunch hour.

白飯有別於一般以飯碗所盛載,這裏用了一個小砵子,與剛才的燉盅一樣以陶瓷製成,飯面舖得平平的,賣相不錯,雪白的飯粒,粒粒分明,飯粒有口感,正合我的心意,不知是甜酸汁送飯太開胃還是砵仔飯的份量較少,平日少吃白飯的我也覺得不夠呢~~

Pot Steamed Rice

The Pot Steamed Rice is presented in a small porcelain pot, you can see the photo attached. The rice is cooked in a light way so it's easily matching with the heavy flavour food, which makes quite a satisfaction in my view. Since the simulation of appetite by the sweet/sour fish, I felt the rice may not have been enough today.

最後,由於是新開業,晚市還有買烤豬送填鴨的優惠~不過只限星期一至五使用~

Lastly on a side note, because this place just opened, the night menu's discount of bbq pork and duck is not exclusive to weekdays.

後記:
吃過一頓令人滿意午飯後又要繼續工作了~不知是否因為新開業,為吸引更多人流,所以食物質素高於預期,而且還要免茶錢及加一收費,希望能繼續保持水準啦~
另外,特別鳴謝我的一位朋友將此由中譯英XD

Conclusion
:
After eating such a satisfied lunch, it was back to work again. I'm not sure if the quality of food was better than expected just because they have opened recently in order to attract customers, but with the no service charge, I hope they can keep up such level of quality in the future

同屋企人打算出街食飯,行行下見到開左呢間新野,睇落好似幾正咁,所以就決定入去食啦。 等左20分鐘到,終於有得入去。點知入到去一坐低,發覺張枱上面部冷氣機滴水既,仲要冇得換枱  算啦,我地3個人坐4人枱,唔坐滴水位就算。我地就叫左一個2人套餐再加啲小食啦。首先上既係我地叫既紅油抄手同埋2人餐既前菜啦。兩味前菜味道一般;但紅油抄手夠哂辣非常惹味!之後就到重點 - 胡同烤豬。 烤豬的確非常之脆,用薄餅皮包住黎食實在一流,可惜份量真係少左啲,得6塊,令人好唔夠喉。另外一個推薦美食係滬家小籠包,因為掛住食冇影到相  皮薄多湯,實在係小籠包中既上品,一定要試試!整體而言,胡同烤豬食物味道確係幾正,不過價錢略嫌小貴,唔太抵食,但值得試一試!
