My first ever time visiting the Kwun Chung cooked food centre. Wouldn’t normally dine at cooked food centres but I’d do it for good food 😆 A good thing about these very local #daipaidong is that THEIR PORTIONS ARR HUGE! My favourite were their 椒鹽鮮魷 and 薑蔥蠔🦑🦪 the fried batter was not thick at all, which was great as you get to actually taste the squid. Couldn’t believe their clay pot oysters were only $168 with 9 HUGE PIECES. The taste of ginger actually came through. Of course, their pepper salt
The other two dishes - fried goose intestines and fried beef flat noodles may look very similar, but they both had their distinct tastes 😜 a fan of the flat noodles as it was not oily and had much wok hei! Though I’m not a huge fan of goose intestines, I admire how the staff have prepared the ingredient so well and removed all the fat from it.
Though this wet market may not be as popular as ones in Taipo, TST or North Point, I reckon it may be a hidden gem 💎can’t believe everything, including drinks for 3 were only $565. Worth a visit to give some support to local (small?) businesses!
