It has been awhile since i had dim sum with my parents and i decided to have dim sum with them today. I brought them over to this dim sum restaurant, that was quite famous in Tin Hau area. It was located just outside the MTR exit. When i reached around 130pm, the place was still quite crowded, almost full. Since there were few of us, the waitress recommended us for their set lunch as it was newly launched. It was available after 11am and after some consideration, we decided to choose set D. It consisted of a soup, 3 choices of dim sum, 1 main, 1 meat and 1 vegetable.
Slow boiled soup with winter melon & pork - It came in a very big pot and there were alot of ingredients in it. The waitress helped to scoop out those melon and pork into a separate bowl so that we can easily scoop out those soup. The soup taste nourishly healthy and sweet. There were red beans in the soup as well. It absorbed the essence of the melon and the pork.
Roasted chicken - This was one of the better ones i have tasted in Hong Kong. The skin was very crispy, roasted till golden red. The chicken was soft and flavourful as well.
Stir fried yam noodles - The staff recommended us to choose this noodles as it was not common to see this noodles in chinese restaurant. The noodles was made of yam. The portion was huge and the noodles was smooth. The texture was chewy, with not much ingredients in it.
We chose a healthier version of vegetables, in soup form. The vegetables were fresh and crunchy, and the vermicelli was smooth as well. The soup was clear, with not much MSG in it.
BBQ pork rice noodle roll - Every piece was long and thick, with alot of BBQ pork in it. The skin was smooth, but the texture was slightly tough.
Xiao long bao dumplings - The size of the dumplings was slightly bigger than usual and the skin was quite soft. There was alot of soup inside the dumplings and was tasty.
Custard bun - When i took a bite, the custard lava has already begun to flow out of the bun. The custard lava has very strong egg yolk taste and the bun was soft as well.
Steamed prawn dumplings - Maybe they served our food quite quickly to the tables, thus when i took a bite the skin has already turned slightly tough. There were alot of prawns inside the dumplings and were fresh and chewy.
