Dignity Kitchen has been operating successfully in Singapore for over 10 years, and it's the first time they ventured out and HK was their first overseas outlet. Hence, the set up resembles the typical, beautiful hawker centres in Singapore. But Dignity Kitchen is more than a restaurant, it is also a registered social enterprise. Their mission is to train and employ persons with disabilities in Hong Kong. Visitors will be served by these differently abled people, right from the cashier all the way to the chefs at the seven hawker stalls to the helpers all over, and I felt they were absolutely professional at what they do. Thus the restaurant name, returning dignity to the people.
Overall, the food was top notch, and you name it Laksa, Hainanese Chicken Rice, Rojak, Bak Chor Mee and down to Kopi (Singapore coffee), the list goes on. Soon they'll be accepting Octopus cards only, which makes a lot of sense for the disabled people who can handle it better than cash.
Great location near Langham place, and so touched by their passion, a must try dining spot!
