Luckily HKU station was built not long ago, thus coming to this area for good food is a breeze now. When we reached at 1pm+, we had to wait for 30 queue numbers but luckily, we just waited for 30min as the turnover were quite fast. As both of us were quite hungry, we ordered quite a fair bit for lunch. First came the bottled iced milk tea. First came the bottled iced milk tea. It was packaged in a plastic bottle, unlike in those traditional glass bottles that most cha chan teng were using. The milk tea was smooth, with a strong tea scent smell.
Even though we were sharing this fried silver needle noodles with XO sauce, the portion was considered huge. Even though i am not a big fan of this type of noodles, it was still passable with a little bit of spiciness.
Next came the taro custard bun. Even though it was named custard bun, the fillings were not 'lava' enough but still nice. As it was served hot to the table, the bun was still soft when we ate it.
The highlight arrived. Salted egg custard toast looked like it was going to burst open anytime soon as it was quite bloated. When we used the knife to slowly cut open the bread like we were the surgeons in the operating room, the thick yellowish liquid began to flow out non-stop. Every small bites to the mouth must be filled with salted egg custard. Even when we have finished the toast, there is still some left over 'lava'. Even though it was sinful, but it was just so smackinglicious good.
