When Paul Lafayet first opened, i was a big fan of it. I loved its macaroons, especially the big sized one with raspberry. That was massive and the texture of it was nice, chewy inside and a crispy outside.More importantly it was not too sweetSadly, the products of Paul Lafayet becomes smaller and smaller and the quality is not as good as it was. When Paul Lafayet first opened, i was a big fan of it.
I loved its macaroons, especially the big sized one with raspberry.
That was massive and the texture of it was nice, chewy inside and a crispy outside.More importantly it was not too sweet

Sadly, the products of Paul Lafayet becomes smaller and smaller and the quality is not as good as it was.
If anyone of you have tried its macaroons when PL first opened, you will know what i mean!! Their sizes are so much smaller now.
I guess it becomes more commercialized? I have no idea but all i know is that i won't go there so often now.


I was attracted by this "macaroon tart" when i randomly looked at the display window recently.
The color of it was so vivid and lively, its appearance fooled me to buy it.
The berries were so tempting with that layer of syrup, it looked so shiny, seeming to say "Hi" to me

The tart looked so refreshing and i could imagine the sweetness of berries in my mind.Therefore I did not think much about it but to purchase it and try it at once. Now that i had tried it, i really have to advice you not to be fooled by its lovely appearance.
"Beautiful thing doesn't mean its good inside" This tart can undoubtedly reflect this statement.

The berries were attracting, looking so sweet and fresh but the layer of syrup made them so sticky and artificial.
I tried to eat the berries with the tart base and custard, however they did not match with one another at all.
The base was unbelievably hard and dry, i could not bother to finish the tart.

I wondered why the custard couldn't ink everything together, it was indeed a failure.

Although the tart was so disappointing, the macaroon was okay. It was the highlight of the tart and the only "edible" part of it.

I am wondering perhaps that was a slip of PL, and i should give it another try? haha will see will see
