This is my first entry into a website of any kind. I have kept a journal of places I enjoy eating at as well as those which I would avoid...but for an audience of my friends and myself. Thus, it pains me to write something negative. Nevertheless, I feel compelled to for the following reasons1) there were four of us - one person's meal came out after the first person had completely finished his meal.(2) one person ordered a burger medium but it showed up completely rare in the middle. (2) one person ordered a burger medium but it showed up completely rare in the middle. We asked for it to be done medium. What showed up was a burger completely well-done...no sear marks, not medium...boiled/microwaved to death. The waiter served it and didn't bother to ask us how it was done. He and the restaurant just wanted to see if we would "wear it." Treating a customer for a fool is not a smart tactic.
(3) The service was particularly rude this day (I have been here three times now). A waiter walked by and coughed on my head. Another, when taking the order, just asked "what do you want."
For a restaurant of this reputation as written in previous reviews...these are unacceptable.
Some positive of course. The food is very competent bistro food, as in the namesake. The whole chicken, great. The salads, good. The bone marrow and escargot, large portion and good flavor. The mini-baguettes, great.
So, as my title states, the weaknesses in the restaurant are correctable but simply not acceptable to me for my experience.
