There's two major types of teppanyaki restaurant - one that focuses on thrilling performances like throwing food up in the air and setting dishes on fire, and the other that is more serious on cooking and plating. I prefer the latter one because I care more about taste than the fancy show. Booked Honmei in CWB for a proper teppanyaki course as my mom's birthday celebration.◆前菜 Starter◆北海道産ホタテ Hokkaido Scallop ◆甘鯛 Amadai◆車海老 Kuruma Prawn◆アンガスビーフの薄焼き Angus Beef Slice◆黒豚パンケーキ Kurobuta Pancake◆SRF和牛

Each seafood was paired with a different sauce - scallop with winter melon puree, amadai with carrot fish soup and kurumaebi with vanilla butter. Good variety with well-balanced flavors.
Meat dishes were prepared in various forms from medium beef cubes, beef and onion roll to pork pancake roll. Every dish had been delicately seasoned and no extra sauce was necessary.
Fried rice was tossed with eggs, takana, onion and scallion. The rice was savory, crispy on the surface and still chewy inside. Dessert of the day was a perfect combo of caramelized toast and coffee ice cream.
Great hospitality. Friendly chef. Excellent food quality. $588/person for such a huge menu is absolutely one of the best deals in town.
