Booked the Optimist for a Sunday dinner and it was packed! We arrived and were greeted warmly by our waitress, who promptly brought us the menus and walked us through their dinner selections. We sat down at 7:45pm and some of the popular dishes were already off the menu (such as the lobster rice, sirloin). We opted for the Dinner Tasting menu for convenience and variety. The appetizers arrived soon after we went through half of their delicious bread accompanied by a fragrant spread. (The waitress
The appetizers arrived soon after we went through half of their delicious bread accompanied by a fragrant spread. (The waitress noticed our enthusiasm and helpfully gave us the simple recipe - mayo and blended garlic!) The peppers were definitely my favorite, tasty, with a nice tinge of sea salt.
The main courses were the star of the show for sure. We had the red snapper and baby lamb shoulder. The lamb was very tender and paired nicely with the mint sauce drizzled on top. I also loved the red snapper - would definitely reorder this. It was a full fish, delicately deboned, cooked to absolute perfection.
Our dessert was the basque cheesecake! The staff came out to sing happy birthday - a surprise, to be sure, but a welcome one.
Definitely coming back!
