I remember bookmarking Hami Harmony some time ago, but then removed the bookmark as I thought it’s quite ordinary and didn’t worth a try. But since a newly met friend suggested it for a Sunday dinner, I gave it a try, and it was disappointing as expected, especially when the food was overpriced.The Snack Platter was very ordinary at best. Cheese sticks, sweet potato fries and cheese quesadilla were ordinary. Basically you just need to reheat them, so you can’t get them really wrong.
Friend said that the Iberico pork chop seemed to be a signature, so we ordered it. Again, it was very ordinary at best. It was slightly overcooked, a bit too dry and chewy. And, who would pair Iberico with gravy…Where is the apple sauce?
As for the pasta, let me quote my friend (who wasn’t at the dinner table, but I sent her photos of the dishes) - “I really dislike Hong Kee style pasta pretending to be legit ones.” Agreed. There is nothing wrong with Hong Kee style pasta, but don’t pretend to be a legit one when you are not. The crab sticks were fine, the spicy minced meat was fine, the pasta was fine, but the whole dish wasn’t what I expected.
For HKD$240 per head without drinks, there are far better options in the hood. I won’t recommend Hami Harmony to you, and surely won’t visit again. Trying once is more than enough.
