Deliberately planned a trip here. No, I wasn't shopping in LC. A bit too poor for that. And it was right next to the shoe section. Shoes is something I would not spend 5k on. (not 4k either. or 3. heh.)Environment:Rather spacious, marble floor and table tops, wooden chairs, nice decor. There were only 4 other people there the whole time. Hence quiet, good for hushed conversation. Food:Tea sets at around $70, includes a Fortnum & Mason tea + slice of cake.Rose latte + Chocolate yuzu/mandarin cak

Rose latte + Chocolate yuzu/mandarin cake
Chocolate yuzu cake was also delicious - the chocolate was dark, alternate layers of chocolate sponge cake and mousse. The mousse was dense, smooth and chocolatey. The sponge cake was moist and sweet. The whole thing was laced with a subtle citrusy tang. M and I really enjoyed it. From what I've gathered, M returned a few weeks later and ordered the same.
Green tea red bean mousse + ginger lemon tea
Conclusion:
There is a wide selection of cakes, and I suspect that they update their selection periodically...plus many interesting savoury/lunch options, which I will come back for shortly. I like the environment and the relaxed atmosphere of this particular affordable cafe nestled inside Lane Crawford.
