I am well aware that this is my second time reviewing Samsen, but I made a conscious effort to try new things on the menu this time around! We got there a bit before 6 and was one of the first people in line on a Saturday night. It wasn't too busy that day, the dining room didn't fill up until around 6:45pm and a line was only starting to form then. The menu isn't particularly big, but there is enough variety given here. The menu isn't particularly big, but there is enough variety given here. They say that if you want vegetarian options you should as the staff, but I heard that vegetarians should still be cautious of dishes that may contain fish sauce.

The first thing that came was the classic fried Thai Morning Glory vegetables. The dish itself was a bit spicy (it was fried with fresh chilis!) but still really yum. Not too watery and the veggies were still nice and crisp.

I personally really enjoyed this dish, it was quite different from things you could get at any other restaurant, so that's already a WIN from me! The eggplant you could tell, had been grilled until the skin got burnt, then peeled off. What's left, is soft eggplant with a lovely smokey taste. It comes with an egg, tiger prawns and is all mixed with a tangy dressing topped with fresh herbs. My boyfriend didn't like it as much as it is quite a unique dish, the prawns were also slightly overcooked.

A crowdpleaser and everyone's favourite, Pad Thai is always such a treat to order! The Tiger Prawns here were cooked much nicer than the ones in the salad, these were a lot more tender. You could definitely tell this was cooked by a wok. I recommend eating this with a bit of table side chilli oil, it really brings all the other flavours out. I did think that the papaya served with it was a little strange though.

The omelette was probably our favourite dish of the night, it ticks the box for unique dishes you can't find elsewhere so I was glad it tasted great too. The omelette, although not very large, was packed with crabmeat inside and the meat was still soft & tender too. It's served with a side of Sriracha, but I personally don't think it needs it. We did think it was overpriced though, which is why I didn't give it a full 5 stars. 


Again, the food at Samsen rarely disappoints. What does let them down a little is the rushed service. I understand that they get really busy at dinners, but we felt chased to leave. The plates get cleared as soon as you're done and the bill comes without us asking. Not something you'd want to be feeling on a weekend! Also it was more apparent to us this time that the food IS quite expensive, so I'd definitely pick an occasion before going.

好有泰國掃街嘅感覺 雖然呢個嘅價錢係jj market嘅六倍😂

個人建議除非你係想食灣仔獨有嘅和牛船麵 如果唔係就去上環啦🦥
地方大啲等位都快啲 而且餐廳都有好多泰式嘅佈置可以影相 📸

The food here makes my mouth water from the relapse.Altho arrived with a small queue, we were pretty quickly seated. Food was served surprisingly quick after order so for those in a hurry, time is caught up quickly!curry is thick and concentrated. a mouthful is surely enough to pleasure every taste bud in ur mouth to climax. seriously try the curry noodles. wagyu beed rice was a little disappointing. tasted like the conventional thai mince with eggs. But really couldnt tell it was any good grade

wagyu beed rice was a little disappointing. tasted like the conventional thai mince with eggs. But really couldnt tell it was any good grade wagyu at all from jts texture and taste.

drinks r also very delicious. Food is a bit overpriced tho.

In these testing times for F&B, I really wanted to support them by ordering deliveries/getting takeaway from small businesses. Unfortunately, some would rather not do business because they think they're famous enough.Their instagram post just two days ago said they're offering takeout 12-9pm. Well this is a lie because apparently their kitchen is closed from 5-6pm but it doesn't say anywhere that that's the case.I called ahead at 4:40pm to order takeaway and I must have called at least 5 times,

I called ahead at 4:40pm to order takeaway and I must have called at least 5 times, ringing till the line died. No one picked up all along. So I drove over to order in person, only to notice two waitresses chilling and chatting among themselves aka not too busy to pick up the phone. By then it was already 5pm and their kitchen is closed. Then this manager Pae came out - super defensive, and said they're too busy to answer phones and update their instagram. He also said there's nothing he could do but I could sit there and wait an hour till their kitchen opens. Very unhelpful and rude.

I messaged them afterwards and from their reply was empty and dismissive. Well, I've had their food before and while it wasn't bad, it's not worth putting up with snobby attitudes as well. The way their staff run things? Best of luck with the pandemic.

Will never come here again ! Too expensive , totally not worth for the price with this quality of food ! We ordered 4 things. 1. Thai curry soup noodle We both know the size of the food here are pretty small and we’re really hungry. So we asked for extra noodle, and they said need to add $28 hkd. Fine it’s pretty pricey but we still We added it. But when it’s come. The bowl of Thai curry soup noodle more like the dry mix noodle. Then we asked the stuff why ? They said we just gave u is 2 noodle

1. Thai curry soup noodle
We both know the size of the food here are pretty small and we’re really hungry.
So we asked for extra noodle, and they said need to add $28 hkd.
Fine it’s pretty pricey but we still We added it. But when it’s come.
The bowl of Thai curry soup noodle more like the dry mix noodle. Then we asked the stuff why ? They said we just gave u is
2 noodle :1 soup ... we was like ...can we have more soup ? And they said u need to add $28 for soup .... to be honest. I never tried the restaurant in my life that added noodle and not gave you soup ? And I need to buy extra soup ?! ... and the soup noodle is nothing special , I just feel like I’m eating a curry noodle. But it’s cost me 158 hkd

2. Chilli fries pork and eggs rice

This one is too salty. I feel like I can just buy some pork and cook it at home with soya sauce with oyster sauce and have a same taste .... really nothing special again ! It’s cost $128

3. Milk tea

This is the best I have in this restaurant
Milky. Good amount of sweet. The best u can try in this restaurant. It’s add 12hk from tge lunch menu

I will never come again. Poor service. When we asked for something. They just show very
impatient and annoy. stuff there actually gave a bad look and weird eyes talk behind the customer. I seen it.
I was always tried the Thai restaurant in Wanchai for a long time and they re great. Food service and great food which is just in front of the another Wanchai samsen but I wanna try another. Bad experience

OMG, this is some of the best Thai food I have ever had. My first experience of this was months ago, and ever since have wanted to come back. They just get their cooking bang on correctly. The balance of the flavours, spices and everything just works so well together. 酸酸辣辣咁,清新得黎都幾開胃!味道就見人見智啦,我就覺得可以接受但未到好好食。因為本身麻麻地green papaya但朋友就食到停唔到手,差啲搶埋隻碟唔比我掂😐

📌泰式街頭椰子雪糕 $68
味道絕對正宗😍雪糕用大大個椰子裝住🥥,玩味十足!雪糕有啲似甄沾記,好smooth同creamy 而且唔會死甜!再用粟米,花生同shaved young coconut 做topping 真係好正😍用呢個甜品做結尾真係好perfect!建議2個人share一杯,因為真係好大份😂

📌香蕉煎餅 $78
絕對有驚喜😍每次去泰國都要一日食返個,因為香港真係無咩地方食得返個隻味🤥samsen既煎餅可以話超越左泰國街食到既質素(i.e jj market )😍😍香蕉絕對用料十足,夠曬大粒🍌而且煎到皮薄餡靚,呈現金黃色,配埋煉奶,真係開心過跳開心舞❤️最搞笑係,個度既廚師好似玩才藝表演咁,搓完個皮掟到勁遠比另一個煎,重要百發百中!


📌Samsen mojito $88
呢杯係餐廳既signature cocktail,味道有啲奇怪,所以唔洗試啦😣😣雖然個賣相ok但飲落去好唔match。Mint 既味道搶曬,mojito加左西瓜🍉搞到好稀,而酒味都好淡🥺😩

🧡總括而言,呢間餐廳好值得一試,雖然泰國street food 呢個價錢真係略貴。但食物質素,服務同環境都值回票價啦🥰


每次去都要等最少1hr先有得入座,如果無咩耐性既話建議到對面cafe hea下,或者係人流比較少既時候食啦🥰staff會細心咁係你可以入座之前既10min send message 同你講!

Huge fan of Thai food, so when I heard about Samsen’s new branch in Sheung Wan, I had to go! Despite the long line, our party of 2 got in quite easily. The eatery has a hip and modern vibe with traces of traditional patterns. The food was naturally amazing. The use of nuts, fruits and herbs made each bite an explosion of flavors. I loved the stir fried wagyu beef with flat noodles as the noods were bouncy to eat and the beef had a rich beef taste. The betel leaf wraps were so interesting to eat

The desserts were yummy too though not as unique as the mains. We got a traditional mango with sticky rice, which was mildly sweet and very yummy with the sweet and sourness of the mango mixing with the milky sticky rice.

We also got a Thai milk tea ice cream with coconut. The toasted peanuts and coconut flakes added a nice roasted taste to the ice cream!

某日weekday lunch, 一點左右嚟到,排20分鐘左右就入得,但要搭枱,坐得唔算舒服,但冇灣仔samsen咁迫!呢度嘅menu同灣仔好唔同,冇船麵食,咁又唔想食咖哩麵,所以今次試泰式打拋和牛配油炸雞蛋飯炸蛋好好味,脆邊,蛋汁又好好撈飯和牛粒切到有d碎,唔係太食得出係和牛,但份量頗多,夠晒送飯,我覺得可以唔駛點個魚露,因為已經幾重口味下!呢度lunch可以加18蚊有杯凍奶茶,反而灣仔就全部嘢都要散叫!杯奶茶不過不失,但唔算好泰國風味,茶味爭d!服務好一般!

灣仔SAMSEN係我至愛嘅餐廳之一,佢嘅泰麵真係好好味(除左細碗左d XD)!所以一路都好想試下上環店,但去過幾次都排長龍,所以放棄左。早幾日嘅平日夜晚,諗住去望下啦,點知唔係好多人等位,等左幾分鐘就可以入座啦(要齊人先俾入座)。上環店比灣仔大好多,闊落啲。疫情關係,枱與枱之間都有膠板相隔,都算衛生。今次試左泰北咖喱金麵(牛),泰式炒河粉(和牛),炒通菜,虎蝦串燒,飲品Lychee & Lemongrass。全部都幾好味的,但份量唔多。📍咖哩金麵幾惹味,微辣📍泰式炒河粉,好有鑊氣📍炒通菜,同灣仔店味道一樣,好味📍虎蝦串燒,不太特別,蝦肉都算結實,但唔係好大隻📍Lychee & Lemongrass,幾fresh 唔太甜,都幾好飲P.S. 咁啱嗰日有幾枱客慶祝生日,店員們會拉大隊邊唱邊跳咁係廚房捧個蛋糕出黎,都幾熱鬧😆

灣仔SAMSEN係我至愛嘅餐廳之一,佢嘅泰麵真係好好味(除左細碗左d XD)!

所以一路都好想試下上環店,但去過幾次都排長龍,所以放棄左。早幾日嘅平日夜晚,諗住去望下啦,點知唔係好多人等位,等左幾分鐘就可以入座啦(要齊人先俾入座)。

上環店比灣仔大好多,闊落啲。疫情關係,枱與枱之間都有膠板相隔,都算衛生。

今次試左泰北咖喱金麵(牛),泰式炒河粉(和牛),炒通菜,虎蝦串燒,飲品Lychee & Lemongrass。

全部都幾好味的,但份量唔多。

📍虎蝦串燒,不太特別,蝦肉都算結實,但唔係好大隻

P.S. 咁啱嗰日有幾枱客慶祝生日,店員們會拉大隊邊唱邊跳咁係廚房捧個蛋糕出黎,都幾熱鬧😆

由澳洲名廚Adam Cliff主理的泰式船麵Samsen自灣仔開店至今一直座無虛席,年初於上環蘇杭街開設了首間分店—Samsen泰館,雖然沒有招牌船麵食,但同樣人氣高企,每天都出現排隊等位的情況,所以一直未有緣來吃。這天就算是晚上八時多,我們也等了近15分鐘,總算來打卡了。餐廳走泰式街頭型格路線,牆上貼滿懷舊的海報,天花吊著綠色的植物,加上強勁的音樂,令人猶如置身街頭酒吧的感覺!由於人多擠迫,手袋都只能放在大腿上。主菜我們點了泰式虎蝦炒金邊粉作主菜,蝦肉爽口金邊粉亦炒得乾身,好味;另一道泰式打拋和牛配油炸雞蛋,和牛香嫩加上豆角、洋蔥等配料炒得很香口,配白飯一流。朋友推介一定要食椰子雪糕,於是我們點了即製泰式飛餅配朱古力醬+椰子雪糕,結果這樣吃原來不夠好,溫熱的飛餅中間夾著Nutella朱古力醬已經很甜,但完全蓋過了椰子雪糕的味道~ 下次一定要試試原個椰皇上的椰子雪糕。飲椰子水也很不錯,端上來時不會很冰凍,這樣才可以喝到椰青的鮮甜。

朋友推介一定要食椰子雪糕,於是我們點了即製泰式飛餅配朱古力醬+椰子雪糕,結果這樣吃原來不夠好,溫熱的飛餅中間夾著Nutella朱古力醬已經很甜,但完全蓋過了椰子雪糕的味道~ 下次一定要試試原個椰皇上的椰子雪糕。飲椰子水也很不錯,端上來時不會很冰凍,這樣才可以喝到椰青的鮮甜。

OMG this food was amazing, feels so authentic, vibe is super busy, modern, trendy and cool. Flavours were bursting everywhere. You can see that its good because the line is usually super busy and they don't take reservations so make sure you rock up early, or be prepared to wait in line with a cocktail. All dishes impressed me and has by far surpassed most other competitors in HK. Will definitely be back and highly recommended, left feeling really full and even tried their yummy desserts.

昨天與同事farewell,有同事建議食泰館,早一日想打去訂位,發現星期一是休息,那只好星期二安排某幾位同事先於12點去輪候,因為有食過的同事反映,泰館是要排很長時間的隊伍的,所以我們安排了4位同事先去等位。我們約12:10分到抵泰館,當時仍未有很多客戶,店內仍有很多空位,但我們是12人的聚餐,所以店內沒有能滿足座位的桌,所以領位的員工要求我們分開兩桌,這不是問題,因為的確人數上比較多。然而,因為我們是分批到達的,首4位同事先到達,店員安排了一張8人座,一張4人座的位置給我們,本來我們打算先2:2分開坐。但當分開坐後,店員提出,我們人未到齊是不可坐兩張桌的,而且態度極差,一直在催促我們,一直說如果2分鐘內你們的人未到齊,我們則要收回桌子給予其他輪候中的客人。我們這時候已經好燥底,其實一開始如果你們沒有空餘的位置,大可以讓我們在門外等,是那位店員叫我們先坐,我們才坐下那張8人座和4人座,但到頭來為什麼您說我們霸佔著位置?如果那位店員是客套的跟我們說,我還會因為我們其他人遲到已感到羞愧,但sorry,我現在還真的一點羞愧的感覺都沒有。我們另一批5位同事於12:20分到達,共9人到達,但現時

在爭論的同時,再2位同事到達,只剩下1位同事因公事仍未到達。我們已先下單,避免那位店員再來找碴,我食個午餐還要擔心被人罵,真的吃完都「背脊骨落」,剩餘1位同事亦於12:30分前到達。

總的來說,這間餐廳的食物不差,但態度極為差劣,令到食客心情極差,而且性價比不高,這是我第一次亦是最後一次踏入這家餐廳。

食物一般般無話特別好食,食氣就食飽左😑。因為我地比較多人,知佢12點先開就提前到左。登記既同事見我哋未齊人都可以照入,但要分枱我地都冇問題。結果我地既同事3個字內俾人不停chur未齊人就要收番張枱,仲要不停俾deadline我地,5分鐘,2分鐘,仲西過我老細。野食質素同價錢又唔成正比,仲要俾service charge,真係😐😐。講真,你如果介意我地多人又未齊人,一係你就唔好俾我地入黎,話者直頭reject我地。而唔係你坐低左,就不停同你講再唔黎就要收枱。有同事俾左隻碗我,入面有隻蟲,我就話麻煩換一隻仲指埋俾佢睇,唔想講出黎佢會尷尬,仲要反我白眼話隻隻碗都一樣係崩既。......果下真係心諗我真係黎俾錢買罪受......唉,望改善。

係真係好多人食,好多人排隊,所以個reception覺得自己好巴閉,態度非常惡劣!仲要唔戴口罩,一副不可一世嘅態度,十分惡頂廚房啲員工10個有8個都係戴個口罩喺下爬,其實戴黎做乜?
