We pretty fast settled on our mains and asked the waiter for a recommendation matching our selection, we took his advise for a 350HK$ Rose, which turned out to be excellent and easy going.There is enough space here to feel comfortable.------------------------------Dinner:All meals were served at the same time, which was perfect as we were sharing, portions are ranging from big (Ribs) to tiny (Carpaccio). Everything was nicely heated and off we went!Salmon Carpaccio:The only disappointment this night, 6 tiny pieces of average salmon and scallop. For 88HK$ we expected something else. This could very well be the sushi from next door, cut into little pieces.Gwailo Wantonur favorite this night. Nicely done raviolis, filled with yummy roasted chicken in a very delicious creamy and flavourful sauce.Beef & Pork Lasagne:Average, unfortunately a bit too less herbs in the lasagne for our taste buds, the pork and beef was alright, the texture of the lasagne as well, if there would be a bit more cheese on top, and a bit more pepper and salt inside, it would get a good ratingFull Set of Pork Ribs:Great, the portion is definitely big enough for 2, the meat is cooked very tender and has a nice smoky taste, it comes with potato slices, mixed in a nice herb sauce, can recommend!------------------------------After Dinner:No Dessert this time as we didn't really see anything "new" on the menu, asked for the bill and got it delivered to our table in very quick (and fancy!) fashion! ------------------------------Other Remarks:The service was outstanding we have to admit, not as in "very good" (which was of course the case) no, more as in, "Haven't seen such an old fashioned server since last year in France Province. 继续阅读

A must try! Fantastic food at a very reasonable price with great wine. I had the Salmon and Scallop carpaccio with French beans, coriander and paprika oil to start with and a glass of Scarlet Skirts rose,for the mains Wagyu steak with garlic mash potato and creamy spinach with a Chris hill reserve Pinot noir and the yogurt panna cota to polish off a fine meal. The manager was very welcoming and accommodated us exceptionally well. I highly recommend Jaa kitchen! 继续阅读

Look longer before you eat - looks greatWent to Jaa Kitchen for a quick after work meal. Chose the burger Very clever using the English muffin rather than a traditional bread bun. Generous cheese layer, Manchego if I remember, then onion jam and a spicy ketchup, chorizo. Sweet potato fires on the side, very nice plate.My second vist here and must go back for a full meal. this is the worst experience i had ever had in my life....last night I went there with friends celebrating her birthday. we booked 7 pm and we arrived around 6:55.staff there were getting things ready and a manager (Ian, who I believe is a bristish according to his ascent) served us and asked us to sit downas they were handling with the set up we went outside to walk around in the nearby area which we were excited to have our dinner here.after coming back to the restaurant the waiter brought us to our table and that we start chitchatting as one of our friends not yet came (reserved for 4 ppl, 3 came and wait for 1), and then the manager came and said he was ready to take our order and we said we are waiting for a friend who was coming. Then the story came, below are the conversations I recalled:"we are waiting for our friends"Ian, "when is she coming""around 15 mins"Ian, "We are doing business here. We are serving the best food in hong kong and we have a long reservation list. Our guest chef ....blah blah blah....can I take your order within 5 min"at this moment both our friends and I were totally out of word, couldn't imagine a restaurant runner could be that rude (yes RUDE)"so what's wrong if we would like to order after our friend came?"Ian, "if you know your friend is late, why don't you reserve 7:30pm? You come at 7:00pm and I gave you the table at 7:00pm""so....what if we order the dishes one by one?"Ian, "don't play games with me, madam. don't play games""so you are asking us to leave now?"Ian, "if you want to leave, you can. It's up to you"OMG! what kind of service is that? Yuck, I wanna vomit onto his face. Such a rude guy! 位于荷李活道以南的Soho区一向是个广为人知的美食天堂,各国美食可算是应有尽有,相比荷李活道以北、以家品小店而闻名的Noho区的确热闹得多。不过近期在Noho区悄悄地展开了一个小革命,夹集在众多的家品店行列之中,出现了一批规模细小的咖啡茶座和温馨食店,Jaa Kitchen 便正是革命的其中一分子。对每一个新的客人来说,找到Jaa Kitchen 的所在相信会是个挑战。地址所写的荷里活道61至63号,在荷里活道其实找不到踪影。四出查探之下,最终要转到卑利街侧的一条小巷才能发现到餐厅的踪迹。Jaa Kitchen 面积细小,餐枱只可放七、八张左右,但气氛悠闲自在,非常迎合苏豪的个性,令食客有如致身于欧洲街角的小店一样。餐厅装饰略带东欧风格,在阴暗的灯光陪衬下,不禁带出点神秘而忧郁的感觉。 餐厅标榜做新派欧陆菜,但从餐牌所见,除了欧陆风情之外,菜式亦大有东南亚色彩。午市套餐三道菜分别有$145、$165、$185三款选择,价钱视乎所选的主菜而定。 缅甸软壳蟹、配粟米、泰国凉瓜 (Grade: 3/5)头盘点来东南亚菜常见的软壳蟹,经餐厅经理介绍下,原来厨师特别用了缅甸的地道煮法,再加上粟米和泰国凉瓜作配菜。软壳蟹份量虽小,但入口酥脆,味道跟泰国菜馆的差不多。配菜相反更加抢镜,薄切后的泰国凉瓜片远看有点似海产的蛳蚶,配搭新鲜的粟米粒,清甜和苦涩味融和一起,味道讨好。 慢烤春鸡、伴以茄子和酥炸鲜秋葵 (Grade: 3.5/5)等了差不多二十分钟,主菜终于现身,先试一下散叫的慢烤春鸡。熏黑了的鸡皮虽然令卖相扣了些少分数,但味道未受影响。在慢火烹调之下,鸡肉的肉质保持得非常嫩滑。调味方面特别加入东欧菜常用的红辣椒粉,令入口更加惹味,再伴以茄子和炸鲜秋葵,对开胃消滞大有帮助。 煎鳕鱼、拿波里肉酱 (Grade: 2/5)一向喜欢鳕鱼的晶莹和滑溜,但可惜这次被一个酱汁所糟蹋。厨师所用的拿波里肉酱味道浓烈,配搭牛肉和意粉等的菜式会较为适合。相反用来衬托鳕鱼的话,会将鱼的鲜味彻底盖过,味道有些格格不入。 苹果批配姜汁肉桂吉士酱 (Grade: 3.5/5)一轮狼吞虎咽之后,转眼已到甜品的环节,这款苹果批配姜汁肉桂吉士酱的确感觉窝心。苹果批本身不算是甚么独特货色,外型带点粗糙,但入口总算松化。真正的精髓所在却是一个热辣辣的姜汁肉桂吉士酱,这个浓郁的酱汁成功令普通的苹果批口感变得更为丰富。 总结Soho 和 Noho 区素来卧虎藏龙,Jaa Kitchen 虽未算是当中精英,但从室内摆设以至菜式设计都可见诚意。服务十分细心,但感觉上食物略为偏向重味,著重健康的朋友未必受落。倘若能从食物方面多加努力,相信未来不难打出一片天地。 继续阅读
