主菜有半隻烤雞,皮不特別脆,還好肉嫩汁豐,配菜有青蘋果沙律、檸檬薯角,襯上混入蒜粒及開心果的沙律醬,與烤雞融合起來味道溫和,又不會太肥膩,不錯。

兩大件炸鰨魚柳、「堆積如山」的薯條、沙律、薄荷青豆茸、他他醬等全部罝於板上,大堆頭的Fish & Frites$188單是賣相已夠睇頭!炸魚柳鮮嫩脆口,完全去除小人對雪藏貨之恐懼;沙律的油醋汁味道很強烈;薯條食味一般,薯味不怎麼濃,只是一味夠多,結果我倆到最後也未能將之徹底消滅!

超級飽足的一餐,不過全單連加一接近四百元,還是覺得這一餐很昂!

2) 叫左一個frites house mussels, 簡單叫佢因為佢係house signature~應該唔會出錯~ (嘻嘻) 每一隻mussels都好嫩. 有麵粉同薯條比你點d汁黎食~ 我未去過比利時, 唔知道d汁係唔係應該咁稀, 好似太濕咁~ 我希望佢可以creamy 多少少~ 比較咸。
總括黎講, 環境好靚, 入夜愈來愈多人, 而食材同以前中環既都一樣好, 但係, 煮出黎既野就真係差左少少lu~~~
Anyways, 值得黎試下, 佢啤酒選擇都好多~ 黎happy hour應該唔錯~

You will be amazed by the BEER Bible they have at Frites which offers all premium and local brands from Belgium. I often come for their mussels and happy hour and when I’m in the mood – I would just randomly choose a brand from their “Bible” as a part of food/alcohol exploration! Beer time! 講到灣仔一班人想去Happy hour的話,最好就訂定位皆因Frites Belgium on Tap真係幾旺。諗返起第一次黎哩到食佢地既青口就場立即愛上,無論味道,價錢,環境都好適合一大打工仔黎Happy hour,再加上他們獨有的「啤酒聖經」,搜羅比利時大大小小的啤酒,唔使成日飲Hoegaarden, Stella, Corona 之餘仲試到好多唔同既口味如生果味,都好適合女仔試。

Then we went for the unordinary LUCIFER BEER from Belgium – outstanding fruit blend and aroma with a mild sweetness & bitterness of malt syrup taste to it. It sounds devilish yet it would be great drink if you are looking for something deeper than Stella.

「魔鬼啤酒」聽落去好得意,點徂支試。出奇地一點都唔邪惡,反然啤酒帶有淡淡的生果味,但又比一般的啤酒重麥味且小甜。酒精度亦比平時的高3%,所以就能被稱之為「魔鬼啤酒」吧。

STEAK TARTARE - With all the trimmings and grilled baguette
The egg yolk served with the steak tartare made the whole sauce really creamy and flavorful, diced herbs, onions were added so the flavor was rich. I had to eat it with the nicely grilled baguette to tone down the overall saltiness but overall not bad!
這個Steak tartare調味醃得不錯,有食得出的香草香氣和洋蔥粒。加上一隻生雞蛋黃,令口感特別滑與「杰」身。雖然這碟頭盤吃上口濃味了點,但送上烤過的百吉包多士與隨碟的生菜就剛剛好了。

FRITES HOUSE MUSSELS - Diced tomato, garlic, onion, light cream and fresh chives
Frites mussels are my ALL-TIME FAVOURITE! The mussels are often fresh and medium-big in size combined with the creamy & milky sauce of tomato, onion, cream and chives, my case is closed. I have yet to try the rest of the flavors like pesto and laksa but I know I will always just come back for their mussels which you can enjoy with their flagship frites! Frites are medium-size cut, freshly fried and the potatoes were cooked till it’s fluffy and soft. As the ultimate potato fan, I would rate their frites here 9 out of 10! Just one point for its portions could be bigger!

主角出場了!就是一大煲的肥美青口!本身有得多口味如Pesto,Laksa等供應,但又覺得classic的house mussels是最好的,所以每次都點這口味。青口的品種是屬於較短手,肥肥的,較厚肉,令平時不太吃青口的我不停地吃。煮青口的汁吃得出有放香草,蕃茄粒,洋蔥粒,而且還有淡淡的奶香。配上我最喜愛的薯條!Frites的frites果然不是浪得虛名,炸得脆脆的,薯條有薯味且吃上來綿綿的,水準相當不錯!每次來都不會失望的。

750 GRAM ROASTED PORK KNUCKLE - Served with caramelised roasted vegetables
Pork Knuckle smelled so good to prove that it is nicely roasted with all the big chunks of onions, potatoes, carrots and zucchini. The meat was tender, could be juicier and the roasted skin could be crispier, it was probably roasted with a relatively lower temperature to ensure the pork was cooked thoroughly yet didn’t add the crispier crunch to it.
大大份燒豬膝切件上碟,伴著烤得香香的薯仔粒,紅蘿蔔,紅洋蔥與翠玉瓜。略嫌外皮烤得不夠脆,肉一點乾身,但整體還是好味的。
It is debatable as to whether this is really authentic Belgium food but at least the food quality was decent and reasonably priced. The Wan Chai branch has an outdoor area which will be great for autumn weather as you can just enjoy your mussels, frites, with a bottle of premium brewed Belgium beer.
係唔係正宗比利時啤酒就唔知,不夠哩到既比利時啤酒就真係無得輸,價值大眾化又多選擇。你係灣仔返工既話,又點可以唔過去Frites Belgium on Tap的戶外區到吹下海風,嘆返杯啤酒呢?

Finished my job at the HKCEC, then went here for a lunch. Less than a minute i decided to have a mussel pot 1kg for myself! As usual, I come here just for the mussels.  However still have jobs in the afternoon so i didnt order a beer this time, what a pity.  The pot came after 10mins. The house mussel was as good as usual.  They were a little bigger than my last visit in March. Is it because of the season?  The soup this time was thicker too, which is great for dipping my fries! Finished my job at the HKCEC, then went here for a lunch.

The pot came after 10mins. The house mussel was as good as usual. 
They were a little bigger than my last visit in March. Is it because of the season? 
The soup this time was thicker too, which is great for dipping my fries! Remember last time was too watery and i was a little disappointed by it.

Not many people today since it was a little late for lunch hour already, 2.30pm, so its not as noisy as the night time. 


However the staff were far too relax and left the customers unattended. 
I asked for the drink menu but the waiter looked "???" then went away. Wanted the bill and raised my hands but nobody realized until more than minutes.
 Signed the bill but the waiter looked not too sure which receipt should return to me or he should take every pieces away.....

Love the mussels and the quiet time here (which feel so different to all my past visits!) but please, staff, wake up!

所有食物是凍的,連招牌菜青口都好似係之前整好晒,客人ORDER 就"不"出黎咁,STEAKS 好彩叫左MEDIUM-RARE , 本身打算叫MEDIUM,見D 野食咁差,都再ORDER 生D ...黎到個陣都好似熟晒咁滯,咁嘅價錢可以有好多好多選擇,以後都唔會有去,唯一可取係服務都幾好...

The salmon tartare had a really creamy taste and it was also quite fishy.
It tasted much better when it was eaten with the cracker beside it.
Surprisingly the cracker is a local cracker by Four Seas called the Crispy prawn cracker which is the one in the orange packet!

情人節更係要同情人食番餐好的,由於情人要出差所以只可以共渡午餐。我地來到呢間要同隔離位坐得好親密的餐廳,佢好似啲bar咁,有一排長的bar枱,跟往就係一個正方形的食飯地方,佢好特別咁用咗啲有木紋的枱,仲有幾張長梳化來將食飯的範圍分成幾行,排排坐好等別。佢地有幾個唔同的lunch set,有魚有stick有pasta有鴨胸,任君選擇。我同honey就揀咗stick同鴨胸。先講下個湯,味道唔錯係南瓜湯,仲有一個包加起來食,口感好好。但係個主菜就碼碼,個賣相其實係唔錯架,但係啲肉就好韌,牛肉要5成,結果好似全熟咁;個鴨胸仲更加唔知想點,個配菜唔知係乜野豆,總知唔好食太甜啦,個鴨胸韌到唔想食,可能午市忙,所以完全唔到水準。雖然係唔好食好彩環境塔救,我同honey都食好開心,不過應該無下次啦(唔再幫襯)。

小妹和友人對比利時啤酒均是門外漢,蒲友C就介紹了兩款較為順喉而帶甜味的比利時小麥釀製的白啤酒 – Leffe Blond 和Hoegaarden。

Leffe Blond $70
蒲友C對深金黃色、清澈透明、酒精濃度約為6.6%而麥香較為強烈的Leffe Blond情有獨鍾。據聞,Leffe Blond要搭配寬口酒杯飲用較為適宜。Leffe Blond的氣泡扎實綿密,入口甜膩順滑,饒富果香和麥香。入口先嚐到淡淡而清爽的香蕉果味,之後是小麥的甜香,口感非常順滑甘爽。不過,對不是酒痴的小妹和友人而言,Leffe Blonde味道還是偏烈了少許。相反,Hoegaarden則較為淡口自然。

Hoegaarden以啤酒發源地Hoegaarden 命名,遵循古法以天然材料釀製 - Hoegaarden的礦泉水、小麥、酒花、胡荽等。淡黄色的Hoegaarden酒精濃度約為5%,帶微甜而超級順喉,泡沫相當細緻綿密,入口後散發出淡雅的果香,相當清新。飲用時,必須配上寬邊六邊形厚身玻璃杯同飲,以維持啤酒的溫度,方能讓其芳香得以發揮到極致。

據資料所得,比利時人除了熱愛啤酒,還酷愛薯條,當地人把炸馬鈴薯叫做frites。此時此刻,小妹終於明白餐廳店名「Frites Belgium on Tap」的意思了 – 即一間以薯條及啤酒為主打的比利時餐廳也。幸而,是夜無心插柳,我們竟點了數款與「薯仔」有關的菜色。


Mariniere 白酒煮青口 $365
蒲友C表示6款Mussel Pots中,白酒煮青口較為可取及好味,故要了一客。一小煲的白酒青口和一碟炸薯條一起上,還有兩片麵包用以點汁同吃﹗是夜,我們決定捨餐具不用,用手,吃得瀟灑豪情些兒!

把煲蓋打開,一窩青口直冒煙,誘人的白酒香四溢!大家都餓了,不顧儀態,隨手拿起一隻青口放入嘴裏品嚐。嘩,青口原來是如此鮮甜而嫩滑的﹗
雖則殼大肉小,但青口與先前吃過的確實是截然不同的,何解呢?稍稍思量了一番,終於明白。小妹食的青口是本地貨,是夜青口則是比利時品種 –海水味濃,肉質豐厚,且鮮嫩無比,咬下鹹鮮味滿瀉,好過癮!青口煮得鮮而不韌,非常美味,配合白酒煮,更是一絕﹗大家狼吞虎嚥地一隻又一隻狂吃,不用數秒,青口已被搶搶吃一空,意猶未盡,可惜太貴了,不捨再叫一煲。


青口雖是主角,但一旁的炸薯條也魅力非凡,絕不是等閒之輩的﹗炸薯仔平平無奇,但卻具薯味及極為香口,教人一吃上癮。兩片麵包好普通,質地緊密用來點白酒青口汁同吃,變得又軟綿又香濃的,好正!

Classic Caesar Salad傳統凱散沙律 $95
我們都是無菜不歡之徒,要了一客沙律。有別與坊間常見的凱撒沙律,餐廳的沙律以幾塊完整的羅馬生菜墊底,生菜可用四字形容 – 鮮、甜、爽、脆。此外,除了灑上切片的巴馬臣芝士外,配料還有脆脆麵包粒、鹹香煙肉粒,以及較少見的一整條醃鯖魚。小妹試了鯖魚,真的十分鹹,個人認為與沙律不太合襯。幸好,凱撒醬汁吃來很溫和,也很Creamy。

啤酒腸仔開宗明義是用來佐啤酒的小吃,所以味道比較鹹,香口而juicy,佐酒一流,也有兩塊麵包點汁吃。

Fish and Frites炸魚配炸薯條 $185
炸魚採用了龍利柳,沾上粉漿來炸,香脆可口。魚柳肉嫩滑,但味道較淡,再加上粉漿過厚,與薄身的龍利柳不夠匹配,頗有喧賓奪主之弊。炸魚炸薯條同為炸物,較熱氣,故餐廳隨餐送上清新爽口的沙律菜解熱去油膩,再配有兩款醬汁同吃。

Rosemary mustard Roast Chicken 迷迭香芥末烤雞 $195
這道菜視覺效果頗佳,甫上枱,我們就被插在烤雞上一小枝乾木上的微弱火燼吸引著。火燼有一小點光,冒出絲絲的煙,散著陣陣類似燒香的味道。是燃點枯乾迷迭香的香味嗎?小妹不禁心裏懷疑。切片小胡瓜炒得頗為清爽好味,然而,以大蒜及紅椒炒香的深紅色紅菊苣,味道偏苦。對小妹和友人而言,苦不堪言,難以入口。烤雞醃得入味,又夠香脆,不過,雞肉較為嚡口,口感較為遜色,且不見了芥末的蹤影,是整晚較為失色的一道菜﹗

小結:
蒲友C訂枱時,尚未知是日天氣狀況,故訂了室內的座位。可是,今夜不太凍,餐廳又人多,再加上好像沒有開冷氣,空氣不太流通,環境頗為翳侷,頗有喘不過氣來之感。吃完,我們就急急腳走人。

I absolutely adore mussels and fresh ones are hard to come by, I'm not a fan of fresh-frozen ones, they just don't taste the same.Frites House Mussels. We tried the 1/2Kg pot. Bitterballen - Having grown up in Holland, this to me was NOT bitterballen, or at least not Dutch ones. It was the right shape (round balls) with breadcrumbs, but the filling was faaaaaaaaar from what it should be, a thick ragout/gravy filling. Instead it was full of mince and dry. Don't get me wrong, it tasted alright, but not Bitterballen and @$65 for 5 balls...nah.. my gf liked it, if any consolation.
Steak Tartar - Big portion, quite an acidic mixture, but it was ok, worth a try.
Pork Knuckle - Geez... this thing was humongous! Juicy, super crispy skin, meaty, gelatinous, the flavour and juices was soaked up by the veggies they were baked in, really good!
Atmosphere wasn't too bad - dimmed lights, sports on the big screen. Had to share a table though (even with reservation). Service was far from impressive. Feels like they are just there to do a job, plonk the food on your table and that's it kind of attitude, no sense of friendliness from 3 different waitresses, except for one tall South Asian guy. When we left, even though the receptionist was at her seat, didn't even say goodbye, even after I said it to her. Too busy counting cash it seemed.

同朋友去食野吹水, 呢間餐廳特別熱鬧, 電視播攬球, 很多外籍人士飲酒傾計.餐單很豐富, 其實樣樣都想食, 酒類也有很多選擇. 點了德國腸, 薯條, 豬手, 烤雞.德國腸切到細細份, 肉味濃香草味也重, 很香.啤酒唔苦容易入口, 很適合女仕飲, 唔記得個名.薯條很脆, 比較實心, 份量多抵食.鹹豬手很脆, 鹹鹹地很開胃, 皮下脂肪很多很甜.烤雞很香, 皮脆肉濃.服務也不錯, 快手快腳有禮貌, 舒服.

星期一通常會有少許納悶,但今天我很興奮,因為約了友人到Brim 28的Frites Belgium on Tap享用午餐 : ) 這裡氣氛十分輕鬆隨意,令人忘卻將要應付的新一週工作!在陽光燦爛的日子,坐在室外的位置該很愜意吧!我和友人都點了Three-course Express Lunch (HK$118起),可選餐湯或沙律,我選了Chicken Caesar Salad,嘩,實在非常美味,Parmesan Cheese薄片+鬆脆麵包粒 +新鮮Lettuce+脆脆煙肉+絕不會太乾的超美味雞肉,還有超美味的Classic Caesar Dressing,吃得我非常滋味,瞬間清碟!主菜方面,我和友人都點了Sole Fillet Meuniere(HK$138),肉質夠嫩而表皮卻又煎得香口的龍脷柳,配以Brown Butter Sauce,味道很濃,都不用再加鹽了(平時我吃西式煎魚,大多要加鹽的),又是整碟吃光光。最後可選餐飲或甜品,友人要了咖啡,我要了這個Churros (即西班牙油條),油條灑滿了很香的肉桂粉,配以Dark Chocolate Sauce,其實味道不俗,只可惜略嫌硬了一

我和友人都點了Three-course Express Lunch (HK$118起),可選餐湯或沙律,我選了Chicken Caesar Salad,嘩,實在非常美味,Parmesan Cheese薄片+鬆脆麵包粒 +新鮮Lettuce+脆脆煙肉+絕不會太乾的超美味雞肉,還有超美味的Classic Caesar Dressing,吃得我非常滋味,瞬間清碟!

這裡服務不錯,服務員不時悄悄走過來,看看我們有何需要。亦會待我們吃完Starter後,才上主菜,讚! 不過最吸引我的還是這裡的氣氛,令人放鬆心情享用美食,這個中午真愉快呢!

大學畢業以後已經盡量少喝酒了,一來其實不喜歡,二來身體也不夠好去消化它,啤酒更加不是我的所愛。但這夜,同窗們飯後好像還有聊不完的話題就找了個地方來續場,附近的FBoT是不二之選。當然,對我來說這種‘喝氣氛’的場合我是不會say no的這家店其實在公司附近也有一家分店,偶爾光顧但都是年前的事了,正好來這裡也可以重拾FBoT的好夢。內裡裝修跟QB店差不多,都是簡單的實木裝修為主。星期五晚上的香港人果然很忙碌,我們到達的時候也差不多十點,還有很多人FBoT快速進食晚餐中,是剛下班吧,辛苦啦~至於我們,大家晚餐好像不是吃得很飽,一坐下來基本上就先叫兩個小食:Fries & Beer Sausage。FBoT最大名物當然是啤酒,很多外面很少見到的啤酒FBoT都有,看著drink list,久久不能下決定。最後大家終於諗惦,見圖(D杯墊真的很漂亮~)。外形上最有趣的當然是Kwak,一個沙漏般的酒杯,好有型! Floris&Lindemans系列酒瓶顏色鮮艷,大概3%左右的酒精含量很低,果味濃郁(Floris分別有士多啤梨,芒果,熱情果選擇,Lindemans則有蘋果,香桃,櫻桃口味),明顯走女性路線,以味道而言,當之無愧。這麼底的酒精濃度,當然不會那麼容易喝醉,但醉人的卻是七人認識十年以上的友情


朋友呀~ 我們要直到永遠~~~

This was a perfect appetizer to kickstart one's lunch. Robust with flavours from the sweet and crunchy watermelon, it complemented the soft and tender chicken breast slices. The accompanying sauce tasted of tamarind, which infused an appropriate amount of acidity to the dish. Coupled with some balsamic vinegar sauce, it rounded up the entrée perfectly, with just the right balance in flavours and texture.

Verdict: 8.5/10

Flemish onion soup

This was a rich onion and leek soup, with croutons and melted gruyere. It was a dish with strong, dominating flavour to begin with owed to the pungent aroma of the onions. This was enhanced by the melted gruyere cheese, giving the soup a rich and creamy taste to savour. Depending on the individual, it might be too strong an entrée to awaken the taste buds, but if you are in the mood for something savoury, this would certainly fit the bill.

This pot of mussels made me reminisced the finest pot of mussels tried by the coast in Wales earlier this summer. It came served with a supplementary empty bowl for the purpose of containing the empty shells. It was largely similar, with diced tomatoes, garlic, onions, light cream and fresh chives, allowing the mussels to give off the natural sweetness. The light cream sauce which formed the base for this dish was luscious and milky, making it a perfect dip for the toasted slices. The sauce was enough to delight our palate, stopping just shy of satiating our appetite with its creaminess.

It was hard to stop reaching out for the second and subsequently third mussel after trying the first. My concern was the inconsistency in the sizes of the mussels. For any forms of fine dining, consistency is key, and that element was left exposed in this dish.

This was another tantalising appetizer, with seared tuna, olives, anchovies, runner beans, baby potatoes, lettuce and sliced boiled eggs. The tuna was cooked to sheer perfection, with a seared layer on the surface yet maintaining a pinkish rawness in the mid-section of the meat. The dressing was rich with cream being the underlying sauce. There was a lot going on in terms of flavours and textures with each mouthful, coming from the crisp texture of the lettuce, the tenderness of the seared tuna and crunchiness of the beans. It might look like a simple salad, but the fine cooking and attentive balancing of textures made it not too pedestrian.

Verdict: 8.0/10

Schnitzel and frites

Schnitzel is actually a breaded cutlet dish, made with boneless meat and thinned out with a hammer and subsequently coated in bread crumbs and deep fried. This was a crumbed pork loin, fried to golden brown crispy, accompanied with a portion of 'frites' and a crispy apple slaw. The one flaw with most deep fried dishes was that the meat underneath the layer of breadcrumbs coating tended to be too dry and stiff. This was unfortunately the case. As the meat was flattened out to a really thin layer, the increased surface area allowed the meat to be cooked readily. With the exterior coating carrying a golden brown crisp, it would be inevitable that the meat was slightly overcooked.

The crisp batter was excellent and crunched with each mouthful, which went well with the apple slaw, which tasted fresh crisp. The chef had attempted to sprinkle salt crystals onto the meat, perhaps to retain some of the much desired moisture in the cutlet, though it was scarcely successful.

Verdict: 6.5/10

Steak and frites

This was a grilled prime rib, served with hand cut steak 'frites' and completed with some greens and truffle mushroom compote butter. While I must admit that I did not personally try this dish, opinions were henceforth that of my friend's. There was enough moisture left in the grilled steak to give it a succulent bite, partly owed to the juicy fats from the red meat itself. It was served medium rare and was indeed how it should have been. The truffle mushroom compote butter was complimentary to enhance the flavours of the juicy meat. It was what it suggested, a rich and sinful indulgence and when melted on the warm steak, it was almost divine. The perfect testament was perhaps the emptying of the plate.

Verdict: 7.5/10

The curry was mild and nowhere close to being what I would regard as spicy. In fact, it carried a tinge of mild sweetness in the aftertaste, but what made it appealing was the rich and creamy taste. The vegetarian spinach balls were packed dense, and was certainly full of nutrients. This was a relatively heavy dish given it being vegetarian, but certainly suited my palate and those at the table.

Verdict: 7.5/10
题外话/补充资料: With the choice of either indoor or outdoor seating, it bore an uncanny resemblance to the European pubs. In general, the customer service was excellent and attentive to our requests. The food was certainly above average and would be close to the haute cuisine it promised to serve. One might perhaps experience better ambience during the evenings or perhaps when it was not a rushed lunch!
