其實我幾鍾意餐廳名夠直接話說兩星期前好友 Roland 生日,朕就做東請他到「魚吧」吃飯。話明叫「魚吧」,嚟到就梗係食魚啦,夠直接!餐廳在 7/F 泳池旁邊,甚有渡假feel,景觀是不錯,但因為中門大開及有戶外的部分,感覺上冷氣不夠,吃得有點兒熱。先來杯「Mojito」$98 解解熱:在 bar 枱的位置已經見到有一系列的魚及海鮮,有即開生蠔,「魚蝦蟹」齊晒,可以唔使玩「大細」。。。侍應有禮地向我們介紹 Fish of the Day, 有冰鮮有活魚,並且會細心解釋每一種的烹調方法,例如冰鮮魚比較適合炸,活魚則可以用來煎,細心。先來個「Baby Spinach Salad」$160新鮮菠菜葉,配上紅菜頭、希臘羊奶芝士、用糖焗過的合桃及油醋汁,相當醒胃;尤其芝士鹹,合桃甜,菜頭腍,菠菜爽,整體是一個口感豐富的組合。「Crab and Lobster Cake with Fish Bar Tartar Sauce」$170是這裏的大熱菜式,非吃不可。兩大件厚蟹餅,約有我的掌心的大小,甚巨型。一切開,裏面全部都是蟹肉及龍蝦肉,多得誇張!一般通常吃蟹餅都會沾他他醬,我覺得吃這個可以不用沾任何醬

餐廳在 7/F 泳池旁邊,甚有渡假feel,景觀是不錯,但因為中門大開及有戶外的部分,感覺上冷氣不夠,吃得有點兒熱。

一切開,裏面全部都是蟹肉及龍蝦肉,多得誇張!一般通常吃蟹餅都會沾他他醬,我覺得吃這個可以不用沾任何醬,要好好品嚐它的鮮味才是皇道,而且最重要是它沒有令人討厭的蟹殼碎,真的是啖啖肉。我覺得可以考慮將它用來做漢堡包,效果應該會不錯,夠霸氣。

魚肉本身靚,已經贏在起跑線上。肉質滑溜,完全不腥,魚皮脆口,絕對不是省油的燈。再加上薯條及三款配菜 side dish,真的是非常飽!

本來壽星仔想吃雪糕,可惜這裏甜品選擇不算多,最出名的炸雪糕我們又不想吃,加上實在非常飽,唯有放棄了甜品環節。其實這裏的食物出品的確不錯,價錢又公道,以五星級的酒店來說,我覺得是一個相當不錯的選擇。

Flying Fish$105 賣相果然精緻,還有木匙放在杯面,面頭有幾粒類似魚子醬的東西,十分貴氣.金黃色的酒飲起來果味不算強,甘苦感重一點,酒精度也不低,因此我想起了那幾粒果汁味的偽魚子醬的作用,就係增加酸甜度,令到更易入口

飲了幾口,享受了一陣子的悠閒後,便送上魚了.魚我想應該有5安士左右,份量十足,肉非常厚,但肉質具彈性,由於只是輕輕的調味而已,更能品嚐到魚味.魚皮的微脆十分香口,加點檸檬汁調味,更能感覺到這魚的鮮度.食食下都難免有點單調,所以沙律醬就幫到我持續進食.另外那粒爆汁的蕃茄仔也要吃光,別浪費

薯蓉口味比較輕盈,牛油味不太重,但仍然好幼滑和Creamy.如果可以下點蒜頭,必定把味道提升多個層次.

配菜也不能不食,左面是煙肉青豆,惹味得連不吃青豆的我也要食清光,因為好重口味,每粒青瓜也吸收了煙肉的味道和油香.中間是甜甜的栗米,右邊是下了香草醋的沙律菜.食大大件魚扒之餘,又不忘同時吸收其他蔬菜的營養和纖維.

用這種輕鬆悠閒自在的心情去進餐,是多麼的享受.用四百元的港幣,代替了數萬元的渡假費真化算!如果心情好,天天也是渡假天.

只怪自己沒有預先查清楚來到才知這個poolside的餐廳, 是沒有冷氣的如果我是第一個來到, 我一定會立即轉場到酒店的其他餐廳食物是好的份量又夠大就只怪沒有心情去吃當天大暑Seafood Tower上的冰極速溶掉變成水浸海鮮特別要讚的是Seafood Tower 附上的芥末汁醒胃, 香辣, 惹味, 什麼點上她都變得好味蟹肉沙律都很好在秋天來跟朋友傾一整晚上應該很不錯的又或穿比堅尼從水彈出然後歎一隻涷龍蝦

老闆為鼓勵我們努力工作, 特別請我們來到這裡吃個午飯, 我們預先定了8人的座位, 一來到這裡就可以馬上入座。看到了餐廳旁邊的泳池境, 真的未食先興奮。侍應先遞上了面包, 只可惜質素較一般。侍應姐姐有禮的向我們介紹fish of the day, 有數種我連樣子都不知道的魚類, 她也介紹了各種不同的烹調方法, 可以讓我們選擇。一直都不喜歡吃魚的我, 選了一客較為能讓我接受的grilled三文魚, 我們也點多了clams和mussels作頭盤用分享。可能一時間點了8道菜, 餐廳為了可以一齊上菜, 我們等的時間比較長, 差不多要20分鐘才可以開始吃。clam煮得十分美味, 濃濃的海鮮味証明了這餐廳的clams十分新鮮, 用clam煮的汁用來點面包一起吃也是最好不過的。接著的是白酒煮青口, 青口鮮甜味美, 入口沒有沙, 沒帶半點腥味, 是我吃過質素不錯的青口。青口配上的是薯條, 這是我最喜歡的幼薯條, 點點白酒汁, 真的十分好吃。接著是我的主菜grilled salmon fish, 原來我的三文魚都配了薯條, 所以十分飽肚。三文魚可惜沒有太大的驚喜, 肉質雖然有鮮味, 但不夠嫩滑。侍應再遞上

一星期前已訂位,但電話訂位是不接受訂室外位置。所以只好訂室內,打算當天去到餐廳看看室外有無位,有的話才要求更改位置。訂了13:00, 12:45到達餐廳,可惜室外的6張檯已經全滿了,只可以坐室內。幸好安排我們坐旁邊位置,可以看到泳池的。 忙了一星期的工作,星期天真的需要放鬆,一間環境寫意,食物美味的午餐,正合我心意我們兩個人叫了兩款食物,fish & chips and mussels。侍應先給我們上青口,待我們吃完青口後才上fish & chips。原來青口都配有薯條,所以有兩桶薯條,多左些,有些熱氣,所以我們都不敢吃太多。青口好好食,size適中,不會太細隻。我諗總共加埋都有35-40隻左右。fish & chips既魚又係超好食,好滑,無骨無腥味,不過我嫌佢炸得太厚粉,所以我拆開來吃,只吃魚。。。大家有時間,不妨望下張墊檯紙。幾得意。

原來青口都配有薯條,所以有兩桶薯條,多左些,有些熱氣,所以我們都不敢吃太多。青口好好食,size適中,不會太細隻。我諗總共加埋都有35-40隻左右。

Eat here quite often, with family, friends or dates.  Yesterday's dinner with colleagues was nice, but as you'd expect, food quality would be consistent at hotel restaurants.  The ambience was warm and comfortable as usual, and as all the doors and window were opened, we could talk fairly loudly without worrying about noise.We were a table of three, sharing two starters and two main courses with a bottle of Moët ice imperial, three bottles of corona and two bottles of San Pellegrino.The drinks w

Eat here quite often, with family, friends or dates.  Yesterday's dinner with colleagues was nice, but as you'd expect, food quality would be consistent at hotel restaurants.  The ambience was warm and comfortable as usual, and as all the doors and window were opened, we could talk fairly loudly without worrying about noise.

We were a table of three, sharing two starters and two main courses with a bottle of Moët ice imperial, three bottles of corona and two bottles of San Pellegrino.

The drinks were served ice cold, but unfortunately, since the restaurant is by the pool, all glass/crystal ware are banned and our drinks were served in kiddie plastic glasses. A big deduction to the appreciation for our drinks.

For starters, we had the niçoise salad and the lobster and crab cake.  The tuna was too well done for the salad, but I liked how it was a sliced  piece of grilled tuna instead of crushed tuna meat.  The greens were fresh and crunchy, and the whole Empeltre olives were juicy and tangy. The dressing was spot on, the vinegar was not overpowering.  The lobster and crab cake was meaty, but too soft to my liking, with more crab meat than lobster.  Overall, it was a bit bland and did not make much of an impression.

For main courses, we stuck with the chalkboard catch of the days (all from sustainable sources, or so they claim), we ordered the slightly more expensive halibut (don't know why it was more expensive) and the grouper (same price as the rest of the fish available on the board e.g. Tuna, salmon, rainbow trout, barramundi, pomfret etc.) both to be chargrilled (you could also order them pan-fried or blackened).  The halibut's skin was nicely crisped but the flesh was not firm and flaky, as I hoped, it was even a bit tough and had a slight aftertaste of fishiness that you get from not too fresh fish.  However, the grouper was nice and juicy and the meat more flaky and firm. No horrible aftertaste.  Both were minimally seasoned with salt and was served on a bed of greens. Good presentation, nothing fancy.

Overall, a good night out with my colleagues and we had a good time.  Nothing to stop us from returning.  Good service and ambience, but just above average food.

8/24正日的生日午餐,千挑萬選後,最終去了JW Marriot魚吧,因為風聞它很夠baby-friendly! 當日也是去到JW Marriot七樓,才知道魚吧同酒店泳池設於同層,竟與前日到訪Scala情況一樣,但就靠得更近。對於食客來講,如此設計無疑更添輕鬆休閒氣氛,甚至有點予人在外國渡假之感;不過對於超喜歡游水的寶寶,即使爸媽已將他的座位背對泳池,他仍很快意識到有人在玩水,很快就開始扭著不斷講「游水、游水.....」來代表他想出去暢泳的心願!  還好餐廳的設備的確頗適合BB/小朋友,除了色彩繽紛的BB餐具可吸引寶寶,餐檯上的魚形磁鐵也很好玩! 然後還有包包的來到,也令為食寶寶安頓了下來;說起來這裡的法份的確幾香脆算好吃,後來我們用來點醬全吃光了~由於餐廳不設冷氣,單靠幾把風扇放爽,在這個月份對於大肚媽媽及大汗老公來講是幾熱的,所以兩口子分別點了杯凍飲來涼爽一下(其實HSBC白金卡生日優惠有一支酒送,不過日光日白還是不開酒了,打包帶走算數)。老公點了Pineapple Mint($95)的Cocktail,單看賣相也涼透心,我也少試了一口,成品既有菠蘿清新酸甜,又有薄荷的冰爽,的確

Strawberry and Banana Smoothie($80),因為是生果與牛奶的組合,健康之餘寶寶也合飲! 成品味道較淡,好處是夠天然,溫度微凍但完全沒有冰感,攤了一會後寶寶也勁飲!

老公是個不折不扣的蠔迷,這裡設的海鮮專櫃對他來講非常吸引啦! 看看了價錢,以五星酒店計,生蠔的定價也算合理,他亦不客氣點了三隻生蠔作為開胃頭盤,成品拌上一支迷你Tabasco,非常過癮! 澳洲來貨的

Australian Kinkawooka Mussel($220),成品份量相當之足,一兜估計超過1kg,成品還連上一藍香脆可口的薯條,一上檯已經香氣撲鼻非常吸引。要讚澳洲青口非常鮮甜肉嫩,以白酒、香蒜、青蔥及百里香等混起的醬汁滋味也豐富,很能襯托青口鮮美;可是要彈是醬汁底其實過咸了,初時搽法包也覺得好正,後來卻越食越咸,受不了!

蟹餅這東東,其實一切就知龍與鳳,講內容它是絕不及Oyster and Wine Bar或Ruth's Chris的出品足料了,還好味道也算不差,配上原罐上的自家製的tartar醬,滋味尤其豐富;不過它與青口一樣,最大問題也是越食越咸,加上味道實在是漏,份量也實在很巨,結果我的一件只吃到七成,其餘全讓給老公了!

環境比較熱,加上肚子太大很快頂住,蟹餅過後完全吃不下主菜,直接跳去甜品了! 是日甜品點了兩款,首先是要求加上蠟燭的
Chocolate Bomb($80),目的當然不是娛己,而是旨在讓寶寶開心一下,可知他最最最喜歡吹蠟燭了! 這蛋糕除了逗寶寶開心,面層的朱古力方塊口感帶脆,中間則是香濃柔滑的慕絲,配以實身潤澤的brownie,整體口味是預期之外的甘濃、香甜,朱古力迷必定大愛! 甜魔媽媽自己也喜歡極了,然而當日吃了太多漏滯食物,也費了點勁才完成呢!

Signature Deep-fried Ice-Cream($90)又比預期中清新多了,一直以為炸雪糕會很油很膩,但原來只是一層很薄的麵包脆槺包著香滑的雲尼拿雪糕,成品不油之餘,底層還有大量雜莓及果醬,口味幾酸甜清新的!

I've been working in this area for a number of years but have never tried this until very recently.

It's located right next to the pool at Marriott with an indoor and a small outdoor area (good news for smokers.) It could get pretty warm during the day though.

Menu:

The menu was rather simple and, as the name of the bar suggests, consists mostly of fish.

What's interesting was that they supply "Simply Fresh Sustainable Fish". The manager showed us a black board with daily selections to choose from. The polite manager explained the differences in textures and tastes of those fishes, Garoupa , Barramundi, Red Snapper, Salmon, Sole...etc., as well as the recommended way of cooking - essentially, most of those were suitable for pan frying or grilling, nothing fancy really.

Before I go on about the fish, I have to say the loaf of bread served was cold, hard as a rock and tasteless. The olive oil and weak balsamic vinegar did not enhance the taste. None of us touched it after the first piece.




These were what came with the fish:

French fries: Average. Less oily and less salty that those served at McDonalds but not significantly different otherwise.

Mushy peas were significantly diluted from the normal type of mush peas, which made it easier to dip things into it that normal. Nice pea taste.

Even theTar Tar sauce was also diluted. Taste was light. Little did I know that without these two condiments, I could not finish the whole fish.



I was expecting a nice and crunchy pice of sole dipped in golden crunchy batter and served piping hot.
The moment I cut the fish open, my hopes were dashed. I didn't see any steam coming out of the battered sole.


The beer batter was a bit oily and soggy, as you could see from the oil drenched paper beneath the fish. The batter wasn't seasoned nor crunchy enough either. The taste of the batter was bland.

The sole lacked firmness. It was too limp at certain parts and I was worried that it was just half cooked. I think increasing the temperature of the oil should help significantly.

The vinegar which came with the fish was exactly the same at the one placed on the table for the bread roll. They should really use malt vinegar instead.

The type of salt they used (rock salt? sea salt?) was way too salty. This did not help the fish too.

My colleague commented that the different types of seafood in the fettuccine were fresh but the fettuccine itself was too tough (c.f. al dente). A bit pricey for$190.



Sleep with the fishes:

The fish and chips came down to Hk$180 plus 10 percent service. I can't recommend the fish and chips here - so I'm afraid a Crying Face it has to be.

If you like fish and chips, I'll recommend "Chippy" and "Jimmy's Kitchen". Nevertheless, I will not rule out returning to try their other fish dishes since they have a nice alfresco area good for drinks.

Fish and Chips: Not recommended.

不要以為酒吧(Bar)就是小朋友不適合去的地方,事實這裡在星期天,是非常children friendly的。酒吧在泳池旁邊,可以到處散步。地方也寬敞舒適的。知道有小朋友,會在枱面放置顏色筆及小朋友餐具。炎炎夏日,來杯白酒及啤酒,降降溫。來魚BAR當然要吃魚,每天也有幾款魚類可供選擇,而我選了最直接的燒烤方式。On side,叫了牛油果沙律。原來還有三款配菜的!份量絕不欺場。漢堡包,味道不太好,牛肉很乾而沒有肉味。來魚吧,還是吃魚穩陣。最後來個芝士蛋糕,平穩而沒有驚喜,但也足以為這餐畫上一個句號。消費不便宜,$350一位,不過地方舒適,有開揚的景致,服務很好,也是不錯的地方!吃完還可以在太古廣場閒逛,那裡有寬敞的洗手間,通道闊絡,很適合各大小型bb車.

The dessert menu is also very special because the waiter brings out samples of the sweet goods for you to look at before ordering. All in all, the service was great. While we were eating, a typhoon was raging on outside. I thought it was very thoughtful of the staff to escort you to the toilet with an umbrella so as to make sure you do not get drenched. Despite the inclement weather, I very much enjoyed this restaurant and will definitely come back again.

The mussels were very fresh and fat. I would recommend dipping the toasted bread into the rich and creamy soup base.

The skin was grilled to perfect, and as promised the fish was very smooth and full of flavour. The portion of mash was just right and went great with the tartar sauce.

The presentation was lovely, but the tart was very dry. The crumble did not crumble. It would have been much better with a spoonful of vanilla ice cream as opposed to a lump of cream.

This is my third time coming to this restaurant. I will definitely come back again, if I am in the mood for some seriously good fish and wonderful service.

The other night i ventured off over to JW Marriot to try out the FISH BAR. WORTH IT! I left feeling both stuffed and satisfied! It was a night filled with great seafood, and even better company!We started with drinks...Crab cakes! ☺Delicious! The homemade tartar sauce was nice, tangy and creamy…just the way I like it.The oysters were juicy!!The fish cioppano was soooo good. I definitely recommend coming here. The food was delicious and the atmosphere is light and fun. Great for families, friends and for dates! Highly recommended. Just remember to call and make a reservation! The restaurant doesn’t seat too many, looks roughly 40-50 people! ☺

Although I can hardly swim, swimming pool can always, for reasons yet to be known to the point of writing, attract me in summer… Having lunch at a poolside bar or something might be a good idea to satisfy my desire. This drive for swimming pool landed me to Fishbar, a poolside restaurant in JW Marriot. My first impression to Fishbar was like going to a resort; the wooden furniture and the waiters’ tropical outfits enhanced this feeling.

It was not difficult for us to order as the menu did not offer too many choices. We had the lobster and crab cake as appetizer, with battered sole and pan-fried barramundi as main dishes. We were prevented from ordering too much by the thoughtful waiter who advised that it would be too much for us if we were to order mussels as well…. I am glad that he had done so!

Without wasting much stomach space on the baguette, which was mediocre at best, we focused instead on the outstanding lobster and crab cake. The crabmeat and lobster were fresh and generously portioned. The pan-fried sides were crunchy without being too oily and the inside was as creamy. The homemade tartar sauce was the highlight of the dish, as its refreshing lemon and vinegar taste lightened the heaviness. Perhaps it is just me, but I think it would be better to share the dish as it was still a bit too heavy to finish them off alone.

When I was waiting for my main dish, the brats in the pool splashed some water on me. Accident? Who knows? One could hardly avoid it as there were only a few bushes separating the bar and the pool.

The main courses came with 3 side dishes: mixed greens with vinaigrette, corn and creamed spinach. I love spinach, especially served with cream, but the spinach was tasteless this time.

CM’s main dish was battered sole with chips. Thick-cut chips are my favourite! They are firmer and less oily. Chips here were not bad. As for the fish, it was a bit of a disappointment. The batter did not separate from the fish; good, but we thought it could be a little bit thinner. Sole is good to be served battered; it has a mild and buttery flavour which does not need much seasoning, and the batter helps preserve its taste. The fillet was buttery and flaky as expected. CM found it satisfactory at the first few bites; however, parts of the fish were undercooked. The margin between halfway decent and perfect is slim indeed.

My main dish was pan-fried barramundi with potato mash. I was more impressed by the mash. It was smooth and augmented with the small potato pieces inside (my favourite style~) that provided a healthy dose of twist to its texture. The fish skin was crispy but too salty. While CM’s fish suffered from undercooking, mine was overcooked. I understand that barramundi is not as tender as sole or cod, but it should not be that coarse-textured! Even the snapper I had in W52 was tenderer than it.

Beside the unsatisfactory fish dishes, the environment was less than desirable, particularly in summer (a good reminder to the stark contrast between fantasy and reality). The few overhead fans worked hard to drive away the terrible heat of the place, which was not air-conditioned. It would not be a problem if the ventilation system of the kitchen worked. It did not; the bar was soaked with the oily smell from the kitchen…

Even with 15% off DXX visa card discount, I still have to pay 400 HKD per head for this; it was far off the mark of “reasonable price”. After all, it was just a poolside bar!

是日與友人們食飯, 友人選了來到這裡. 位處酒店露天泳池旁, 好有渡假 Feel. 先來生蠔, order 了White Pearl White Pearl - 很creamy , 但唔夠肥美 Mussels in White Wine sauce - 青口不俗, 很新鮮. 有一天我接到Marriot打來的電話說邀請我參加一個什麼講座,完成之後會有禮物送,一開始鬆弛擔心可能是騙人的,不過我覺得兩個人一齊去的話,有個照應會比較好,而且我們對於推銷都是不為所動的,如果真的可以拿到禮品,好像也不錯。最後,出乎意料之外,輕易地拿到兩張$500的gift card,可以分開兩次試試Marriot裡面的餐廳,因為我跟鬆弛都沒有去過。第一家選了風評不俗的Fish Bar。Fish Bar位於7樓平台,正好在酒店泳池旁邊,餐廳四周都圍上了植物,所以坐下來的時候不會看到泳池的人在做什麼,但聽到小朋友們玩水的歡笑聲,心情也好像隨之而好起來。這裡是半露天式的,完全沒有冷氣,現在正值初秋,晚上有點涼風,頗為舒服。附近雖設有銀色的強力大風扇,不過如果正值炎夏的晚上來的話,實在要好好考慮這點。餐桌上塾著一張關於魚的報紙,內容挺有趣的,四角都放著一條藍色魚的磁石,設計頗有心思。菜式款式不多,一大張menu一目了然。首先送上用餐巾包著的Baguette,微暖,配上無鹽牛油,外脆內軟,好吃。香煎蟹肉龍蝦餅。很多食家都大力推薦的一道頭盤,份量真的不少,裡面除了蟹肉、龍蝦肉外,還有薯蓉和蔥粒。

香煎蟹肉龍蝦餅。很多食家都大力推薦的一道頭盤,份量真的不少,裡面除了蟹肉、龍蝦肉外,還有薯蓉和蔥粒。蟹肉很多,相當足料,不過龍蝦肉少,一同吃的時候不太能分辨得出來,不過是香口好吃的。只是這個頭盤對兩個人來說好像有點多,吃到後期會覺得很漏。

幸好有自家製的tartar sauce,我們幾乎用完一整瓶,醬汁裡面的酸瓜粒和檸檬汁剛好可以中和蟹餅的滯漏感,讓我們順利清碟。墊底的火箭菜超級苦,而且味道last很久,鬆弛說比他喝的廿四味還要苦。最後一致認為下一次如果只有兩個人的話就不會再叫了。

洋蔥煙肉忌廉汁青口。有一塊大大的麵包放在上面,拿開之後就看到下面澎湃的配料和青口們。這個忌廉汁煮得非常好,裡面有洋蔥、煙肉和香草之外,還加了一粒粒青蘋果,沒想到青蘋果粒和忌廉的味道是如此夾的,降低了忌廉的肥膩。青口肉質鮮甜肥美,很好吃。撕一小塊麵包來吸收忌廉汁,好吃得不得了,縱然很飽也忍不住要繼續吃。

主菜的魚選了盲鰽barramundi配奶油馬鈴薯,之前看過食評說不錯,而店員介紹的時候亦提及魚肉會比較滑,在炭燒、啤酒脆炸和香煎之中,鬆弛選了炭燒,因為比較能吃到其鮮味。上檯的時候平平無奇,不過切開之後相當juicy,好像很嫰滑的模樣,不過吃下去好像是兩回事。盲鰽的魚味是特別的,外皮燒得香脆,算得上是鮮甜味美,只是肉質不能算滑,但也不能說是鞋,不肯定是不是燒過火了,但跟我們想像之中的燒魚有點出入。跟魚配上的同樣是蟹餅那瓶tartar sauce,不過和這魚毫不合襯,這醬還是適合跟香口的東西在一起,反而加少少鹽提鮮就已經足夠。奶油薯蓉夠香滑,不過太飽所以吃不完。

配菜分別有忌廉菠菜、沙律和粟米粒。忌廉菠菜是好吃的,不過到了這個飽到不行的地步,多好吃也吃不下了。沙律菜加了點黑醋,可以消一消滯。粟米粒是新鮮粟米而非罐頭貨色,愛吃粟米的我努力把它清掉。

食物水準算不錯,價錢也合理,只是燒魚方面有少許失望,不過實在要特別讚賞其服務質素,店員勤快之餘又相當細心,加水換碟全部都自動自覺。如果有什麼特別日子要慶祝的話,這裡確實是一個好選擇。
