After a long week at school or work, there’s no better way to begin the weekend than sleeping in and brunch. Between Eggs Benedict, delicious tapas, chinese delicacies and more, there is no limit to the range of choices you have in front of you. All of these brunch spots are handpicked to give the most variety and flavor Hong Kong has to offer.

With brunch available on weekends from 9am to 4:15pm, Catch brings Melbourne-style food to Hong Kong. The menu is quirky and emphasizes the australian theme, calling breakfast brekky and lunchtime lunchy. At Catch, breakfast is served from 9am onwards, and lunch from 11:30am. Their breakfast assortment ranges from fried eggs to smoothie bowls and baps. On the other hand, their lunch and salad menu has a strong focus on seafood, with dishes like prawn & avocado salad, steamed mussels with laksa and soft shell crab burger. Due to their popularity, Catch does not take reservations on weekends or public holidays. They lines open at 9am on weekends so get there early or try visiting after lunch hours to beat the crowd.

Previously named Mamasita’s Cantina, Mexus brings Latin-American flavors and culture to Hong Kong. Located at 8 Lyndhurst Terrace in Central, Mexus is a two-storey bar and restaurant with Mexican native chef Edgar Navarro heading the kitchen. Their weekend brunch menu has a buffet section with all day breakfast, fresh eggs, salads, cold cuts and dessert. They also have three different types of tacos including pork rib & neck, sol beer battered and forest mushrooms, Mexican seafood paella and a choice of main like burgers, wild salmon or charcoal-grilled steak. The restaurant is decorated with vibrant colors and large mural-like paintings, resonating with the culture and cuisine being served.

An award-winning Northern Chinese restaurant, Hutong in Tsim Sha Tsui serves a modern and minimalistic interpretation of traditional northern Chinese cuisine. Their Feng Wei Brunch reflects traditional northern Chinese dining customs with over 18 dishes served to the table for sharing. The dishes include an assortment of appetizers, dim sum, hot dishes and dessert. Highlights from the menu include seared foie gras with smoked egg, 12 hour braised beef rib, kung po French cod fillet and matcha glutinous rice balls. For an additional price, customers can also decide to add signature sharing dishes like braised crispy lamb ribs or filleted Mandarin fish in Sichuan chilli pepper broth. Enjoy all of this while gazing out to the Victoria Harbour and Hong Kong skyline.

Every Sunday on the 8th floor of the Conrad Hotel in Admiralty, “Nicholini’s” and “Brasserie on the Eight” have a joint Sunday brunch buffet. The Pacific Bar located between the two restaurants is transformed into a myriad of food buffet from almost every cuisine imaginable. Guests can choose from an array of salads, fresh seafood and sashimi, Indian curries, carved roasts, made to order pastas, eggs station and dozens of delectable desserts. Highlights from the buffet include mini potato pancakes with duck liver roll, melted Raclette off the block, squid ink tagliolini with truffle sauce and Grand Marnier soufflé. With the choice of pairing with Perrier-Jouet Champagne or non-alcoholic sparkling peach juice, this Sunday brunch at the Conrad really has it all.

With a breakfast menu available everyday of the week, Wagyu serves as a great place to get an all American breakfast fix. For those that prefer to sleep in on the weekends, they offer their breakfast menu all day, rather than just until 11:30am on weekdays. Their breakfast menu is very up to date with the latests Western food trends, including dishes like avocado on sourdough with poached eggs, corn fritters with avocado and salmon, chia pudding made with coconut milk and french toast with yogurt. Apart from food, they have a range of healthy smoothies like their mean green or post workout with chia seeds and even have breakfast martinis and sparkling cocktails.

A gourmet Italian restaurant owned by the DiVino Group, Spasso serves fresh and classic Italian food in both an alfresco and open kitchen setting. Their brunch, only available on Sundays, has two parts to it - guests begin with a mouth-watering international buffet then select their favorite main course. The buffet has an array of breakfast treats, oven-baked pizzas, Italian cold cuts, fresh seafood, salads and a roast carving station. Spasso’s focus on using the freshest and most seasonal ingredients is reflected in their brunch main course. Guests can choose between a risotto, pasta, meat, fish or chef signature that changes on a weekly basis. Some previous mains have included pan fried barramundi, grilled octopus and pork loin piccatine.
