To promote a new salt and sugar reduction (RSS) dietary culture and living style to the people of Hong Kong, the Environment and Ecology Bureau, the Committee on Reduction of Salt and Sugar in Food and the Centre for Food Safety of the Food and Environmental Hygiene Department have launched the "Less-Salt-and-Sugar Restaurants Scheme" ("Scheme"). Restaurants participated in the Scheme will offer less salt or sugar options to the consumer or even tailor-make less salt or sugar dishes in designated restaurants. 古法糯米雞 : 隻雞唔係好大隻, 糯米唔會好乾又唔係又濕好林, 又唔會好多汁啱; 晒而家D又怕林又怕汁既人, 我自己就會鍾意濕多少少.  饀料味道唔錯, 唔會就D人就到淡晒,  但又唔會好咸, 饀料又唔會霉duck duck, 正呀.

陳皮牛肉球 : 係舊式味道仲有芫茜香添, 係而家個D大酒家或者新式酒樓食唔到既. 好食.

酥皮焗义燒飽 : 酥皮面鬆脆, 麵包牛油香又軟熟, 燒义仲係有肉青既半肥瘦梅頭爽口上肉
, 怪不得攞到米之蓮啦.

家鄉咸水角 : 新鮮, 外皮暖熱啱啱好, 好軟熟一咬就開, 中間D饀都係舊式味道, 但當然係配合現今既咸度. 好食.

賽螃蟹春卷 : 食物温度都係咁好唔講喇.  比較新款一D既春卷, 外脆內碎, 比較易跌出嚟, 淡淡地.
韮黃鮮虾腸 : 一睇已經知道一定好食, 因為晶瑩剔透, 而家唔係去酒店中餐廳已經好難見到, 以前一D舊區粥舖都會見到, 而家好似已經絶跡咗咁.  咬落去真係無得挑剔, 皮滑加饀料爽口, 豉油味道又啱啱好. 饀料D虾有虾味, 唔會比嘢"拿"到無晒味得個爽字.  好食. 


之後仲去咗一次, 不過係下午5點幾先去, 唔洗等位,

哈....., 食物依然保持水準, 唔會因為唔係早/茶市而失色或感到賣餘尾, 依然好食. 分別就在相機無得食, 我食晒 wa...ka..ka...a..

再上一次到添好運飲茶是帶台灣朋友來的, 已經有大半年時間了 ! 剛過了吃午飯時間 , 直接進去不用等位置 ! 店內依舊有本地食客, 跟遊客, 如果我是遊客能來到這裡吃東西一定很開心, 因為價錢不太貴, 又有本港的飲茶文化 !

今天是偶爾經過,專門去吃叉燒包的。不愧是米其林一星等級的叉燒包,非常好吃,與一般的叉燒包做法不同,讓人十分驚艷,入口甜甜的,包質鬆軟。其他食品尚可,與一般茶樓差不多。但是排隊時間太久了,座位不夠多且壅擠。上菜速度算快。結帳人員找錯兩次錢。

I don't know if it's because we didn't look like local but we received leftover BBQ pork bun (the house speciality). They were saggy and cold. I nearly asked to be brought fresh one but my friend was already eating it and loving it (gwai lo) but as a frequent customer I expected better. That's All i have to say for this branch. I recommend to go to the one in Olympic even tho it's more crowded

In case you’re not from Hong Kong, Tim Ho Wan is the cheapest michelin star restaurant in the world. The chef/owner of the restaurant used to work at the HK Four Seasons hotel’s 3-star Chinese Restaurant Lung King Heen, and left years ago to open his own hole-in-the-wall dimsum eatery in Mong Kok. Not sure why he didn’t start a higher end restaurant, considering his background, but it worked out for him nevertheless. The restaurant was already pretty popular before it got its first Michelin Star, largely because of its super affordable prices for the quality of the food (I believe they started during time of severe economic depression in HK). I couldn’t find any old interviews but I heard from my parents that back when the restaurant first opened, Chef Mak would cook AND serve customers all by himself in the tiny store. Talk about hardworking! The original Mong Kok location has closed down and a few years ago the new flagship location has opened in Sham Shui Po. There are a few other branches and even one in Singapore right now.
Anyway, my parents frequent THW but for some reason I happen to be busy everytime they went. Anyway on a public holiday Tuesday we were out of ideas on where to eat, so I asked my parents if we could go to Tim Ho Wan. They were a bit reluctant as they’ve visited only a week ago but I practically forced them to in the end

We got there at the busiest time – around 1 – and there was a 70 table wait. Yeah, that’s right, SEVENTY. Luckily we got a parking spot right in front of the entrance so we were able to get away from the crowd and wait in the car #spoiledkid
We waited for around an hour for our table. This was actually quite fast considering there were 70 tables ahead of us.

We didn’t waste anytime and filled in our order sheets before sitting down. The restaurant was crowded and the tables were terribly cramped. A little bit difficult for my dad who’s 6′ tall.
In their Singapore branch, they labelled 4 popular dishes as “The Big 4 Heavenly King Dim Sum” 四大天王點心: 脆皮叉燒包 Crispy Skin Cha Siu Bao, 黃沙豬潤腸 Pork Liver Cheung Fun, 香煎蘿蔔糕 Pan Fried Turnip Cake and 香滑馬來糕 Malay Steamed Cake. Very ordinary, non-gimmicky items but all done very well (though I’ve only tried two of them)

-The rice wrapping was very thin, although this wasn’t the thinnest I’ve had. It was still done well and not doughy
-The liver filling was smooth rather than the “crispy” (爽口) kind. I think this went better with the smooth rice wrap. It was also marinated well and didn’t have any bloody pork taste.

-It was still hot when it arrived – had to resist the temptation to bite into it right away before taking pictures!
-The crusty skin on top was thin but still noticeable. It was sweet and savoury and the same time. Oh my goodness the texture was amazing! Like biting into a thin layer of Pineapple Bun crust. The soft bread was well done too – soft and fluffy!
-The cha siu filling was also great in texture. The pork was tender and the sauce was just the right consistency. I did find it a tad too sweet though
-These certainly did NOT disappoint! I believe this was one of the reasons why Tim Ho Wan got a Michelin Star. Well worth the hype!!

Anyhow, I was pretty satisfied! Although to be fair it wasn’t as OMYGOSHSOFRIGGINGGOOD as I expected but I still really enjoyed the food. The con, however, was definitely the line up which I guess could be avoided by going at a less convenient time seeing that they’re open 24/7 (early morning, late afternoon, late night etc). Also they do take outs too so this would be a good option for a quick street snack. In fact I bought a few Cha Siu Baos for breakfast at the IFC location the week after!
Also we found out that they had a special menu for people who reserve VIP rooms – minimum charge $1,000. This seems like a really good deal as I’m sure $1000 worth of food here can feed many people. Will definitely come back again for their special items!

2、豉汁蒸凤爪15hkd,这个是奶奶喜欢吃的,说是比潮福城味道好,而且蒸的很软糯,适合老人家啃!
3、叉烧肠粉18hkd,肠粉皮很Q哦,叉烧量也很足,吃起来口感不错!

口味上我个人是觉得啦,如果有在那附近逛可以去吃看看,如果没有计划去那一带也没必要特地去找了,没有非常值得专程跑去!

I am writing this review because some foreign friends told me the foods there is very delicious, one even said it's the best meal he had during his 6 month exchange program  in China. For me I don't find it especially attractive, but I do agree 1-3 of the dim sums there are much better than other restaurants. Tim Hou Wan ------to literally translate, Tim = add, Hou Wan= Good Luck, so the name means to "top up some good luck to you". 

My home is only a 5 minute walk to there so I think I'm so blessed with this! The good thing you can have dim sums anytime within its working hours, unlike traditional Chinese restaurants that they need to take 2 hour rest in the evening to prepare for dining period, which doesn't serve dim sums. 





Love: 

  Tea charge per person: as the tea is not very good as hotly served here, the tea charge (everyone is compulsory to pay for it) is relatively cheaper, only 2 HKD

 Sweetened grilled pork crispy milk bun 18HKD:  I'm SUPER IN LOVE with this bun, I tried eating 4 buns in one visit! 

The bun is the best I tried, because it's always freshly baked, the crispy surface is so rich in milk taste, and the pork inside is much fresher than other restaurants. 


 Glutinous/ sticky rice with chicken and mushrooms inside in lotus leaves ~25HKD:   My mom said this is one of the best she ever tried. It's really big!

. Other dim sums are good too, typical ones such as shrimp dumplings are quite nice. 


 Cheap pricing and no 10% service charge: the price there is very economic 







Others: 

They have other branches in HK but the working hours are not the same. 
During rush hours/weekends you need to wait at least 20 minutes! However if you go such as during 3-6pm, you don't need to compete with others.

首先注意是添好運跟一般點心店一樣, 搭檯, 用死一種普洱茶和茶壺都常見, 然而我真心覺得個D茶是難飲的, 於是我老爸甚至帶備私家茶葉自己沖XD

進入正題, 點心方面的質素普遍很高, 以下有幾款主力逐一介紹:

蝦餃:
皮薄而實淨,絕不易穿皮,蝦有鮮蝦味,不過味道較淡,加少許鹽會很好吃

燒賣:
跟蝦餃差不多,但因為有豬肉調過味,味道上很夠味道,而且極具咬口

招牌糯米雞:
這個就是其招牌菜, 非常足料 ,糯米也不會過淋,荷葉味極重極香,冬菇,雞肉,豬肉釀進糯米中,味道極佳!! 必試之選, 唯獨份量極大,如一個人食,食完已滯,而且偏肥膩!! 愛健康者需注意!!

春卷:
很多時都會變, 正常蝦春卷, 不過也出現過沙茶牛肉春卷, 後者我覺得麻麻,主要是沒用蝦咁好食. 然而炸得外皮脆夾香....喼汁是自助的,因此不需要擔心不足夠的問題!!

蘿蔔糕:
撞手神之作,問題係在於佢煎得夠唔夠出金黃色係表面上,一旦唔夠即大打折扣, 然而味道倒算中級之作, 但要跟福臨門,蓮香居仍有距離!!

雪山酥皮焗叉燒包:
名物之二, 似菠蘿餐包,不過採用雪山包的酥皮使其外皮較鬆軟卻不硬, 入口極具口感, 而叉燒也夠熱,絕不能錯過名物之二

各式蒸飯:
有北菇滑雞, 窩蛋牛肉, 鳳爪排骨3種碗蒸飯, 用鐵碗去蒸, 份量等同一碗飯, 只達不過不失之水平,畢竟添好運都是糯米雞好

各類腸粉:
牛肉, 叉燒, 蝦....非常滑溜, 用料也足夠, 又一必試之物

桂花糕:
名物之四,香而不過甜,冰凍之餘口感極爽口,而且桂花用料充足帶香味,我最喜歡的點心之一,每次必試物

煎堆:
奶皇煎堆太膩了,個人不覺得好食,而且奶皇也不夠甜,如果能換成其他如豆沙,蓮蓉就好....

其他店心:
也有鮮竹卷,牛肉,潮州粉果等,但都是不過不失的水平,並沒上面數種特出,但仍是可一試之作!!

總結:
因為成日去,也沒什麼總結了,而且價錢非常之平民化....食飽飽也未必要過百,誠意推薦 , 服務也ok,上菜算快......不過唯獨早上開10點就真的較晚,沒早茶時段

第二次幫襯深水埗分店,依然係好多人等,當中唔少係遊客。之前一次來,因為唔想等上左樓上。雖然價錢一樣,但茶錢每位$6,而且要加一。雖然靜啲,但要搭枱,感覺唔抵。呢餐係lunch連tea,所以點左好多嘢食:酥皮焗叉燒包 ($18):雖然唔鐘意食叉燒包,但都必點,因為酥皮好好味!賽螃蟹春卷 ($20):食唔到蟹肉黃沙豬膶腸 ($18):豬膶唔會太老,好味!晶瑩蝦餃 ($25):普通鼓汁蒸鳳爪 ($15):普通家鄉咸水角 ($14):普通糯米豬肉丸子 ($16):呢個點心幾特別,中間的肉丸仲有肉汁杞子桂花糕 ($10):普通栗子南瓜西米露 ($15):好味!上點心的速度好快,所以都食得好快。可能等的時間同食的時間差唔多。
