Marriot previously had a Spring Sales promotion and I prepaid for the dinner.The appetizers were a great start. The plum jelly was added to the cucumbers made a really unique dish.The Tattinger was started to be a bit more mineral in taste but pairing with the stronger flavored barbequed pork and marinated cuttlefish made it more smooth.The mandarin peel in the soup was quite abundant, giving off just the right amount of aroma to enhance the flavors without overpowering it.Next came the sea cucu

The Tattinger was started to be a bit more mineral in taste but pairing with the stronger flavored barbequed pork and marinated cuttlefish made it more smooth.
The mandarin peel in the soup was quite abundant, giving off just the right amount of aroma to enhance the flavors without overpowering it.
Next came the sea cucumber. Despite it doesn't look like a lot, it was stuffed with scallop mousee giving the dish a unique seafood "sweetness" . The Huadiao if tried alone is a bit too strong but when paired with this dish was a great choice. Their abalone, the star, was of course tender and delicious. However, I definitely felt the both the mushroom and yam cake was really well prepared. The mushroom was just as tender and the its light flavors balanced the abalone. The yam cake tasted like an elevated version of deep fried potatoes and soaked up the delicious sauce. There was a separate small bowl for the rice where you can the amount of sauce you prefer. The red wine's acidity definitely complemented the flavors.
Dessert time and again impressed. The pistachio cream really was really rich with a heavenly aroma and I worried it would have affected my impression of the red date pastry.
The red date pastry I think had the thinnest crusting I had with the inside packed with red date paste so despite the strong pistachio aroma, I can still taste and smell the red date inside this pastry. Both desserts were also not too sweet, which I loved.
