Do not ever go to this place if you are just a regular customer and not their VIP because you are nothing to them if you are not a VIP. But a note to the restaurant itself: You are not a Michelin star restaurant also - and even Michelin star restaurants will not do what you do to your customers. I went here in late November 2021, it was the most humiliated I've ever felt dining in Hong Kong. The two of us ordered a chicken hotpot and a bunch of other hot pot food that would total around HKD$1,20
I went here in late November 2021, it was the most humiliated I've ever felt dining in Hong Kong. The two of us ordered a chicken hotpot and a bunch of other hot pot food that would total around HKD$1,200. We sat there in the cold for more than an hour and still no food whatsoever.
All the customers arrived after us got their food and still nothing for us. We ended up leaving without eating anything because if we waited any longer, we'd be giving them permission to humiliate us further.
During the one hour waiting in the cold at our table, we asked once about our food. The waitress dismissed us by saying "the chicken hotpot you ordered would require 15 minutes." But at the time of asking, we'd already been waiting for over 30 minutes and she was the person who actually put in the order for us when we first sat down.
When we decided to leave the restaurant because we did not want to be humiliated by these people anymore, none of the staff seemed concerned at all - no apologies whatsoever.
I have been to a fair amount of Michelin star restaurants and worked as a lifestyle editor myself, and I can say that with the kind of food offerings this hot pot place has, they aren't even qualified being considered a top rated restaurant in the city. Just because they included some IG-friendly decor, it does not mean they can treat their customers like trash.
What Michelin star restaurants and even all the other average hot pot restaurants have and this place doesn't is the respect for all customers.
