I arrived with two friends from Europe without reservation but luckily we got a table after waiting 20 minutes. The waiters seemed very busy and not very welcoming. Also the environment seemed very dirty(clothes hooks were still hanging at random places) and the whole place looked like it was close to collapse but because the Restaurant was full of people and the positive reviews we wanted to endure the harsh environment in order to eat good Beijing Duck.So we were moved to a back room which see
So we were moved to a back room which seemed even dirtier than the main room.
A waiter came and LITERALLY threw the plates on our table as if the table was some kind of dartboard.
Then we had to wait again until we called another waiter to take our order.
We ordered the Beijing Duck and some side dishes. We wanted to have one duck but he insisted for us to only take a half: "No, half is enough for you"
It was the same with the other dishes: "No, not large. Medium is enough"
Then the duck came. The sauce tasted like a standard sauce from the supermarket and the vegetable seemed moldy. The duck was not sliced in front of us. It was brought to us on a plate, already sliced. It seems that the duck was rejected by other customers thats why it was cold. The skin was not crisp anymore as an Beijing Duck should be. The meat itself was rather dry. We also ordered some standard vegetables as a side dish which was okay. Considering the price it was a very bad food and service experience.
