As a French ultra lover of French pastry, I've tried all the best pastry shops in Paris and I've been looking for good French pastries in Hong Kong for months, even years.
I did find some decent places but portions were always ridiculous for the price paid. All the shops selling nothing but cheesecakes are of course excluded of my selection. We're talking about French pastry.
I finally got to know about Petite Amanda. Getting familiar with Amanda's training in famous French houses, I was quite confident to finally find my happiness.

For my 1st visit, I had the Lemon Tart (Tarte aux Citrons). This cutie is so popular in France that it makes best pastry shops stand out from the rest. I loved Amanda's Lemon Tart. Still a bit small (if the individual tart could be enlarged by 20%, that would be perfect!). This isn't exceptional, but in par with French standards.
I also had the Charlotte aux Poires, after reading some good reviews. This other cutie was GREAT! I always like pears and mousse and it worked very well. I had other visits but i can say la Charlotte aux Poires is my favourite at Amanda's shop.

I tried most of the remaining cakes on my other visits.
I was honestly disappointed by the Mango Tart and the Salted Caramel Mille Feuille. The latter is almost impossible to eat without breaking it from the 1st cut. I found it a bit bland, unfortunately. The French master of mille-feuille, Jacques Genin, assembles them a la minute, after you order in the shop. Of course this isn't feasible in Hong Kong, unless you have a big shop and much higher demand. I found that Amanda's mille-feuille would gain by having a simpler structure and additional flavour.
The Délice aux Framboises was ... delicious, as expected from the name. Yet not in my top 3.

The other 2 (with Charlotte aux Poires) are Plaisir Sucré and Amarina.
Plaisir Sucré is a great combination of praliné and chocolate. It is crunchy and melting, which is very pleasant.
It doesn't break like Mille Feuille. Overall my favourite piece from Petite Amanda.
Amarina, another great combination of pistachio and cherry jelly, with a baby macaron on top

I give it a slighter advantage over his "brother" Délice aux Framboises.

One word about the viennoiseries. I tried the Pain au Chocolat. Well, my expectations were far too high. Since I've known Blé Sucré, a pastry shop in 12th district in Paris, I find any other Pain au Chocolat quite tasteless.
Of course, viennoiseries in HK aren't sold by tens and hundreds from morning till evening like in France, so no blame for this ... I should try the croissant next time!

Oh, one more thing, please invest in real spoons. The current wooden spoons kind of spoil the tasting. Quite hard to break through crunchy cakes. Real spoons shouldn't lead to bankruptcy

Félicitations à Amanda et à Petite Amanda's team for this venture.
I can't wait to try the new Yuzu Cheese Cake. See you next
