When I searched through OpenRice, this restaurant popped up as a Spanish restaurant. By looking at its name, of course I can imagine they also push craft beer. When I arrived in person, it’s essentially a pub. There’s only one waiter during a weekday lunchtime, who gave me a warm welcome. Originally I thought it should be more westernized but when I received the confirmation message via whatsapp, Chinese is being used. The mains and desserts were nice. For the appetizer, which was a daily selection by the chef, the waiter told us we’ve got 2 items to choose from, the tomato soup, or the 柚子沙律.
I pictured the 柚子沙律as something of Thai style, with strips of沙田柚 mixed with other greens. It turns out to be a hard-boiled egg with lettuce & cherry tomatoes salad with yuzu soy sauce. No 柚子at all, and it’s very salty to mix the greens with soy sauce.
The crispy suckling pig requires pre-ordering and I reserved one the day before when reconfirming my reservation. It was really crispy, yummy and not that fatty, which was great, while it looked like a chicken leg when they presented a small portion for the lunch set, unlike the regular size during dinner time. It didn’t say it’d come with a spicy tomato sauce on the menu, which I didn’t like and didn’t think it’d go well with the pig. The mashed potato was a healthy version without enough cream/butter added, which I didn’t eat further.
The paella was nice, while the layer of rice was so thin. The portion was planned for ladies I think. Since it’s for lunch for 1 person, there’s only 1 prawn, 1 mussel, 1 clam and maybe 2 pieces of squid rings.
We also had the churros, which were nice.
The lunch set is 2-course and the restaurant doesn’t serve water. Need to order bottled water or other drinks, while their tea and coffee are very reasonably priced, at $15 and $20-25 respectively.
