Even though Xiqu Centre has been opened for few months, I have never went there before. When my friends told me that there is a Chinese restaurant there, initially i was surprised about it. Since they decided upon it, we planned to have dinner there tonight. Signature Peking duck - The size of the duck was huge and the chef sliced the duck piece in front of us one by one. Skin was provided to wrap the meat and the seasoning in it. Skin was roasted till very crispy and meat was juicy and chewy.
Seafood soup with sliced vegetables - The soup was filled with seafood and the soup was thick in texture. Vinegar and pepper helped to enhance the taste and seafood was fresh and chewy.
Sweet and sour pork with pineapple - Sweet and sour taste was balanced done, and pork was fried till chewy and crispy, one of the better ones tasted.
Poached threadfin with radish - Radish was cooked till very soft, almost melting in my mouth. Threadfin was soft and smooth, with no after-taste. The gravy was flavourful, going well with the fish.
Stir fried vermicelli with pumpkin and shrimp - The dish was nicely presented, pleasing to the eyes. Vermicelli was fried till soft and smooth, and generous portion of shrimp and pumpkin. Prawns was huge in size and was chewy.
