Stumbled across this restaurant today and it was completely empty at 6pm. to be fair, it was early and apparently they've only been opened for 4 days.We decided to check it out since prices seem reasonable and menu covered sashimi to robata, tempura to noodles and sukiyaki (which could be good or bad...).We ordered several items which weren't bad but definitely not great and we would not come back for so I would suggest to skip the below:- egg omlette- scallop sushi- beef tongueHowever, it was t
We decided to check it out since prices seem reasonable and menu covered sashimi to robata, tempura to noodles and sukiyaki (which could be good or bad...).
We ordered several items which weren't bad but definitely not great and we would not come back for so I would suggest to skip the below:
- egg omlette
- scallop sushi
- beef tongue
However, it was two dishes that prompted me to write this review. Their game changer dish was the Volume Roll which consisted of 5 pieces sushi piled heavily (and I mean LOADED) with minced fatty tuna, spring onions, roe and the epic uni. It was indeed an epic slut fest of a marriage between the tuna and uni and truly satisfying! for $130ish, not bad at all and although it was very similar to the roll at Amazake, I preferred this one for the very generous toppings.
Second dish worth mentioning was their cold somen (sorry, forgot to take pic!). presentation was quite bleh TBH but the broth was light and refreshing alongside the thin rice noodles. Def a dish I would enjoy during a hot, humid HK summer day...
I would return for the roll but that's pretty much it. Wait staff was very friendly
Volumn roll (fatty tuna, uni, salmon roe )
$130
