Went to Cheung Kung Koon half a year ago for their signature shark fin and barbecue pork. This time we visited again for lunch to try their homemade dim sums. Picked 4 out of 5 dishes with fresh shrimps before I realized it. Dumplings and siu mai were served steaming hot. The fried dishes were a standout - the turnip cake was topped with a crispy layer of sakuraebi, which enhanced the umami of cured meat inside the turnip cake, while the rice roll was thin and smooth with a flaky and incredibly crunchy layer of deep-fried dough and succulent shrimps inside. The sweet and chewy coconut cake was just right to finish off the meal.
