Summary: Affordable, delicious Sichuan (i think!) noodles that are efficiently served, but with enough variety to keep you coming back for more. One of my favorite noodle joints in CentralCrazy noodle will satisfy your need for spicy, rich, well-made Sichuan noodles (at least i think they are Sichuanese; ive never been), and will do so for a bargain. They offer a number of noodle dishes - i get either the 1) non-spicy white soup with pork ribs, 2) the red soup with pork ribs or 3) the phenomenal mashed pea minced pork dry noodle dish. It's a bit hard to describe but it's some kind of pea (not green pea) boiled and slightly mashed into a chili-oil based sauce with minced meat. It's incredible with noodles, and it's just soupy enough (with a shot of vinegar) to let you spoon it up for that killer mix of tastes. Really delicious and a must-try if you like spicy noodles with a lot of textures and flavors.
You can add on an appetizer (the sichuan cucumbers or black fungus are great) and a drink, and it'll cost you less than $100
It's an eat quick and run restaurant, but it's comfortable, the service is welcoming and it's rarely full. They have other items like a skewer set (wasn't too impressed), and dan-dan mian, but for first timers, you gotta start with that mashed pea.
