Half-way down the steps at the northern end of Po Hing Fong, up the hill above Hollywood Road in Sheung Wan, you'll find The Hangout Corner. We had an early dinner at The Hangout Corner on a Sunday evening - the restaurant was pretty quiet when we arrived, but a few tables of diners arrived while we were there. The decor is slightly sparse, with some bare wood, and high tables, but some nice decorations inside and on the outside wall.We ordered a few dishes between us, and to be honest had too m
We ordered a few dishes between us, and to be honest had too much - we assumed that the 'snacks' on the menu would be small, but we were wrong. we had smoked salmon mayo corn pizza, fish'n'chips (snack!), mozzarella fingers (snack!). buttered baby asparagus (side!), onsen egg (side!). The pizza was a little unusual, more almost more like a large toast, but it was a good thickness, and the toppings were plentiful and tasty. The fish'n'chips could easily have been a main course in their own right, with nicely-breaded fish and crunchy chips. The cheese fingers were rich and creamy, the asparagus was crisp and tasty, and the egg was cooked just about right, not too soft, not too hard.
We couldn't decide between the desserts, so we had brownie (with gelato) and cheesecake = both pretty good, although I'd say the brownie edged it. We also had a couple of mocktails, lemon/lime bitters and grapefruit ginger spritzer - also both good, but I'd recommend the spritzer if you like ginger.
