My friend and I want to find a decent place to relax and enjoy the dinner after a long day of work.We know some of Tsim Sha Tsui restaurants have nice Victoria harbour views.We decided to go to one of the restaurants on the 19th floor of commercial block located in Ashley road.We ordered the dinner set for two which costs HKD$1388.This dinner set has a seafood platter for two,2 salad,2 soups,2 glasses of wine,each person will also serve 3 hot appetizers and 1 main course,a dessert in total.The v

My friend and I want to find a decent place to relax and enjoy the dinner after a long day of work.We know some of Tsim Sha Tsui restaurants have nice Victoria harbour views.

We decided to go to one of the restaurants on the 19th floor of commercial block located in Ashley road.

We ordered the dinner set for two which costs HKD$1388.This dinner set has a seafood platter for two,2 salad,2 soups,2 glasses of wine,each person will also serve 3 hot appetizers and 1 main course,a dessert in total.

The views of this restaurant are quite impressive as you can see the victoria harbour views and the opposite site of the harbour-central of hong kong island .

As we arrived here in evening,we can saw the changing color of the sky and experience the differences between day view and night view.

However,I think the decor here is not appealing at all,no decoration,frankly speaking.

The seafood platter for two is served first.This platter includes 2 abaloneS,2 Australian oysters(Smoky bay),2 French oysters,New Zealand razor clam sashimi,2 Japanese scallop shooterst,4 fresh prawns.

Japanese braised abalones

冷食日本磯煮鮑魚

These abalones are from Japan and cook in japanese style.The abalones are braised with varieties of janpanese seasonings such as mirin,Japanese soy sause,Khumbu/Kombu/Bamboo seaweed sauce...

The abalones will slowly simmer for several hours and then set aside inside the refrigerator for several hours or more...some restaurants even rest the slow cooked abalones for 2 days in order to let the abalones fully absorb all the flavours of the sauses!!!

The abalones are very tender,not rubbery and tough at all even under long cooking time.You can taste the intense flavours of all seasonings which lift up the sweetness of abalone itself.The abalones are very palatable and one of my favourites.

Oysters

澳洲、法國生蠔

The waiter reminded us to taste the lighter Smoky bay oysters from Australia before these French oysters which have more intense flavours.

The french oysters are more creamy and juicier than that of Smoky bay oysters.I personally prefer the Smoky bay one as its lighter and sweeter with a touch of saltiness from the fresh seawater.

New Zealand razor clam sashimi

紐西蘭蟶子刺身

I like these razor clam sashimi as its very crunchy and crispy.I recommend you can season it with Pesto or Wasabi soysauce .

Prawns

The prawns are medium in size.It tastes sweet,not extremely fresh,but acceptable.

Japanese scallop

日本刺身帶子

The scallops served in quite interesting presentation as they are presented in form of shooters.These scallops seasoned by honey miso sause.However,I am not fond of the taste of the sauce which makes the scallops taste very slimy.

The cabbage is not very crunchy and fresh.The salad is bit over dressed with the yogurt sauce.The taste is ok.I think it will be much better if the bread crumbs are added,less yogurt dressing and more extra virgin olives oil.

Black truffle mushroom soup

黑松露蘑菇湯

The soup is very aromatic!!You can smell the compelling,irresistable fragrant from the black truffle.The thickness and seasoning of the soup is right on the spot,quite palatable and comforting to drink.

Tom Yum seafood cream soup

海鮮冬蔭忌廉湯

I had a sip.For me,the soup is definitely an acquired taste.It is a thick,rich,creamy soup with tartness.I hadn't taste anything like it before.

Hot appetisers

Sautéed French escargot/snail with mushroom

The escargots are quite tender and not rubbery at all.I don't like the seasoning as it is relatively flat and bland.However,the sweet potato mash served as a side dish surprises me.It is very sweet,tasty and creamy but at the same time has lumps to give some bite to it.

Rice cake in black truffle cream sauce

I like this dish very much.The rice cake is very chewy and glutinous glazed by black truffle cream with ambrosial aroma.

Crab meat and mushroom in Thai red curry sauce & crispy bun

The bun is toasted with a golden crust.The bun is crispy on the outside and fluffy in the inside which soaked a sapid,piquant Thai red curry.The crab meat and mushroom give sweetness and additional textures to the dish.Delish!

Oven roasted whole catch of the day(Pomfret)

The skin of the fish is quite crispy.Me myself don't like Pomfret as its taste is dull and has small bones in it which is quite annoying.I think the chef want the guests to savour the raw,original taste of the fish so it is served as a whole fish with minimum seasoning.The pesto adds titillating tartness and sweetness which enhances the flavours of the fish.

Slow cooked beef rib eye steak

Slow cook can preserves the nutrients and proteins of the food by cooking the food under 70c for several hours.Slow cook method prevents the nutrients and proteins degenerating under high temperature cooking which is a healthier eating style.

My friend not used to eat raw meat,so we ordered medium well for the steak.Still, the steak is quite succulent and juicy.It will be much tasteful if it is medium or medium rare with more seasoning.

This cake is delectably nectarous.It is creamy,buttery,dense and rich with a touch of aromatic coffee bitterness.Yum!

House wines

White: Fleurs et Couleurs Chardonny,France

This Chardonnay is young,light bodied,crisp and citric acidity.I guess it not staying in the oat cask for long nor undergoes Malolactic fermentation as It is very light in colour and not possesses the buttery flavour which is typical characteristic of some Chardonnay.

Red: Cambridge crossing Cabernet Merlot,Australia

Cabernet is larger proportion than that of Merlot in this red.Unlike typical Aussie wines,this red is quite dry rather than fruity and not very intense flavours as typical Merlot.With quite strong tannin,medium bodied.

Both wines are drinkable but I guess I will sugeest you to order other alternatives.

The waiters are helpful,polite and quick response.However,the noisy cling-clang sounds keep coming from the open kitchen which disrupts the relaxed ambience of the restaurant.Also,a waiter mistakenly served me the wrong dish.I think the restaurant should establish a clear ordering-delivery protocol and reminds their staffs pay more attentions to this aspect to ensure the guests get their right dishes.

The view of the restaurant is spectcular However,the food is not impressive as the view.For me,this dinner is not value for money.I think the restaurant should Speed uo to improve their food in order to earn customers loyalty.
