We visited the shop for a brunch on Friday at around 11. Fortunately, we managed to book a slot for $38 dim sum deal priorly. As I observed, the restaurant was full house by the time we arrived. It was located in lower level, in the dark, woody, and classy setting. As seated, we were served with tea. Their small appetizer was also nice. The first dish we got was a fried tofu. The first dish we got was a fried tofu. It was light and crispy and I remember that the sauce went very well with the dish.
We also got these Shumai with the scallop, Hargao and the chicken feet. Shumai and Hargao were filled with fresh and fat shrimps, and the seasoning within were very light, blend and less oily. Chicken feet were not sticky or thick. Overall, the food made me feel comfortable and they were easy to consume, as a lazy first meal of the day.
This rice roll with shrimp spring roll was one of my favorite. It was one of the best I had.
The Malagao appeared special to me, because most of the traditional ones I had were brown in color and super sweet. On the other hand, Malagao here tasted lighter but little denser and wet, which I liked much.
Before coming here, I was looking forward to having this deep fired Liusabao, since I am a big big fan of custard buns. First bite was good, with the crunch in the surface. Biting further in would be rather doughy and chewy texture of the dough. Then finally is a perfectly sweet and salty egg yolk. I only wished that the the dough could have been less chewy and more airy.
The special part of this visit was the superior interior and service, with comfortable yet tasteful dishes. In deed the tastes were above average without being overly sugary or oily. I would love to visit here again, perhaps with my parents sometime.
