November has arrived and so has Christmas. Green has a new Christmas themed Godiva Afternoon tea which incorporates the best elements of their previous afternoon teas(3 courses, complimentary sparkling wine, unlimited ice-cream, beautiful afternoon tea stand, cute food)The arrangement of this afternoon tea was in the form of a set meal with appetizer, main meal and desserts. The arrangement of this afternoon tea was in the form of a set meal with appetizer, main meal and desserts. The desserts are served like an afternoon tea. A glass of complimentary sparkling wine was included and you can pay and extra $100 per person for free flow(which I declined as I decide to drink less alcohol recently).
Besides the sparking wine, coffee/tea is also included.
While you are waiting for your food, you can go out to enjoy their unlimited ice-cream. There was chocolate and vanilla and you can choose a wafer cone or cup.
You can even choose to add popcorn to it.
Despite it is unlimited, don't go all crazy with the ice-cream as this 3 course meal is extremely fulfilling.
The oyster chowder was rich and the deep fried oyster was not oily. The taste was great on its own but in view when you have it together with the complimentary sparkling wine, it may taste a bit fishy so I would suggest to eat a bit of ice-cream in between having this appetizer and the sparkling wine.
I tried the Turkey Drumstick and it was really large. The smoky flavors were spot on the I really loved their sauce. They also had wrapped the end of the drumstick so if you don't mind, you can use your hands as you won't be able to finish it otherwise.
The star came and if you told me this i alone is the afternoon tea set, I totally would have believed it. The afternoon tea stand was beautiful and like a music box, you can turn on the switch which it will spin slowly. The dessert items were Chirstmassy and the chocolate bear was definitely cute.
Even the chocolate ornament had a lovely christmas surprise inside.
My favorite in terms of flavors was the earl grey financier macaron. The earl grey flavor was quite prominent and was a nice to have when you had so many chocolate items.
