La Casa Burger & Pasta is a small burger shop located in Sheung Wan. I was in the area thinking of having a burger alone when boyfriend called to say he was coming over to my place. Stressed to know what to eat as I didn't plan anything, I decided to just get take away from here.Menu is in English and Chinese. There is no 10% service charge and you order and pay at the cashier. Menu is in English and Chinese. There is no 10% service charge and you order and pay at the cashier. They offer various burgers along with pasta options. A couple of the burgers seemed Asian inspired. They also have various snacks and combo upgrades.
They also offer a two people set as well for a fairly reasonable price.
And if you come during afternoon tea time, they have a tea time menu.
I opted not to get a combo as I have drinks at home. So, I did a la carte. Everything was made to order so there was a bit of a wait. My takeaway was neatly packed in a very sturdy paper bag. Each item was placed in sturdy cardboard boxes. It was also still warm when I got it home.
I'm not a big fries person so I ordered chicken wings in original flavor ($58). There were six of them. The wings were crisp on the outside and the meat was juicy. The marinade had a bit of spice and was well seasoned.
Boyfriend had the Pork and Fontina Burger ($72). Roast pork belly with fontina cheese, apple chutney, baby spinach, sliced cucumbers and a honey mustard dressing. This was interesting as the pork belly was so crispy that it was like eating slices of bacon. The cheese gave it an extra bit of saltiness. Combined with the addition of sweet apple chutney to balance everything out.
I had the Classic Beef and Cheddar ($62). A beef patty with cheddar, lettuce, tomato, pickles and onions. The patty was thick and coooked to a medium rare and seasoned. The cheese was melted well. The bun was soft and fluffy. A good choice of a burger bun.
The burgers were very decent at a reasonable price. I liked they option of not choosing fries with their combo sets as well so it gives me more of an option. The takeaway containers held together well without spillage. Perhaps next time we'll try a dine in.
