Big portions and good value for money 😊

Years has quickly become a popular spot in Sham Shui Po and has recently opened up 2 new stores too. Definitely a sign that they're doing well! It's great to see more tasty vegetarian friendly restaurants pop up. This time, I made a visit to their OG store for lunch. Even during the pandemic and with dining restrictions in place, the cafe was bustling with people and there was even a short wait for people coming after us. It's great to see more tasty vegetarian friendly restaurants pop up. This time, I made a visit to their OG store for lunch. Even during the pandemic and with dining restrictions in place, the cafe was bustling with people and there was even a short wait for people coming after us. The tables were decked out with tall plastic barriers so we felt safe during our meal. 


Their menu isn't huge, but the selection is good, there is something for everyone. Caution: the portions are massive, so for the pasta or rice dishes, you have the option to request a smaller portion if you don't think you can finish it. I like that each set comes with a complimentary hot or cold drink too.

 I ordered this Japanese Style Meal, it came with 6 side dishes, miso soup and a udon. Loved the variety of side dishes, especially the croquette! The other dishes were soft tofu, edamame, sweet potato, pickled vegetables and a dessert mochi. The tofu pockets on top of the udon was really nice and sweet, which went nicely with the udon. My only comment was that the udon was too soft a bit overdone, but maybe that's a personal preference. The mochi wasn't as soft as I would like it either. But overall, a nice set lunch and a generous portion too 😍

 Look at that portion of pasta! If you're feeling hungry, I would definitely go for one of their pasta or risotto dishes. This pesto spaghetti wasn't so much pesto (as I felt it lacked the creaminess or body of a non-vegan pesto), but it was still pretty yummy. The herbs were nicely spread throughout and the whole dish was seasoned really well.

 All their sets come with either a Hot Popcorn Tea or a Cold Earl Grey Tea (which we both got). Super refreshing for the summer and love that it doesn't come with a straw! There are also options to add $ for other drinks too. 


Overall, I'm always happy to see vegetarian places become popular dining spots in HK. For meat eaters, the menu includes a couple Impossible dishes so you won't feel like you're missing out (the burger + sweet potato fries looked really good!) 😉Years has a great menu selection that I think caters to everyone with their fusion inspired dishes. A solid choice for lunch if you're ever around SSP!
