To celebrate our anniversary, I decided to treat my wife to a nice dinner tonight. As she proposed omakase, we went to a Japanese restaurant that was opened recently. Ikkou Omakase was located at Cameron Road, few minutes walk from Tsim Sha Tsui MTR.For their dinner, they offered 2 price range for their omakase set, and we chose the $1280 set. It consisted of appetizer, sashimi, seasonal dish, sushi, soup and dessert. For their appetizers, it came with crab meat jelly, sea urchin tofu and snail.

For their appetizers, it came with crab meat jelly, sea urchin tofu and snail. Crab meat jelly was slightly sour in taste and soft, snail was chewy and sea urchin tofu was very soft and smooth.
Next up, they presented us a tray of 5 sashimi items. In the middle was leather jacket fish with cod liver. It was chewy and the cod liver helped to make it flavourful. 白身魚鮫蝶 was chewy and smooth. Mini squid was juicy and chewy, kinmedai sashimi was chewy and slightly dry and soaked tomato with plum wine was juicy and sweet.
Hokkaido oyster was fat in size, and the sour sauce jelly on top helped to enhance the taste.
Sliced squid with sea urchin was chewy, and the sea urchin helped to make them flavourful. Cut octopus was very soft and smooth, with the texture like pork. Prune was slightly sour in taste.
This was one of the dishes I am looking forward to. Otoro and medium toro was wrapped with seaweed, with basil leaves in it. Toro was very fatty and chewy, and the seaweed was very crispy and thin in texture. Basil leaves was flavourful, thus soy sauce was not required to dip onto.
Cooked kinmedai was cooked till soft and smooth, slightly sweet. Sliced chilli helped to bring out the taste.
For the sushi, we have 5 pieces, which are Hokkaido scallop sushi, shima aji sushi, Hokkaido sea urchin sushi, flamed cod sushi and flamed flounder fish sushi. Sea urchin sushi was icy cold, and was very buttery and soft. Flamed cod
sushi and flamed flounder fish sushi was very fatty and oily, melting in my mouth.
Clam soup was sweet and clear, with no MSG tasted. Clam was chewy and fresh.
The last dish was fruit platter, consisting of strawberry, winter melon and chocolate cake. Fruits were sweet and juicy and chocolate cake was sweet, with strong chocolate taste.
