又是週末,今曰同hubby 去試下意大利菜。上次試過大集團的同米芝蓮意大利菜,是次的是家庭風味,摩登裝修的餐廳。週末的食客頗多,以外藉人士居多,環境比較噪雜。 午餐是吃bunch 為主,任食的有cold cut, salad 同cheese等,middle course 我們點了炸mozerella cheese, 主菜則點signature 的butchers cut. sunday brunch和朋友看到这家评价不错就直接前来 前菜和小食算丰富 很多种类可以选择味道也都算蛮好 主菜本打算要牛肉 两人就只能要一份 最后还是选择要了两份别的 一个松露意粉 一个鸡肉 鸡肉味道不太好 甜品也算OK 下次会在试试主菜的牛肉 环境不错 总体感觉都算不错的用餐体验 还值得再来

麵條佔意大利飲食文化重要一席。「Pirata」設有8款手製麵條,以意大利麵粉和雞蛋新鮮製作,扁身寛條的 Pappardelle 也是其中之一。入口富有蛋香、嚼感富豐,而 Pappardelle with Duck Ragu 更是意大利傳統的菜式,燜鴨醬汁均勻地包裹著麵條,不會過濕和膩口,整體配合得不錯!

內外美兼備的「Pirata」,最好的選擇其實已近在身邊,何需尋尋覓覓!

I will call it a super-rich-Italian-brunch for the whole package starts from the unlimited cold station with cheese, salad, grilled vegetables, smoked salmon and some ham. Entering into the serious part, it is designed as an Italian way to have the primary (Primi Piati) and second course (Secondi), which covers almost all meat, fish, grain and veggie. To end, of course, it's the dessert selected by the Chef. Drink is not included, but I will highly recommend to order some refreshing mocktail (Appleberry Smash) for the girls or for you still in your hangover from the night before. Free-flow choice is available with a reasonable price, and by looking into the selected drinks, I would like to try next time


Every ingredients were just fresh like directly out from the market with a paring fresh and modern looking. Like the Mozzarella Sandwich, it's just tomato sauce and fresh mozzarella, while we were so much enjoying that crispy from the edge of the toast and the creamy and cheesy taste from the floating hot 'liquid' inside! If I have chance to choose pasta, flat wide and pasta made with egg would always be my choice. Here we had the Tagliatelle with extra olive oil and parmesan cheese slides and truffle on top. Simple as the most, and very delicious. Two chef's choice dessert were amazing! First, our mouth was refreshing by the less-sweeten and less-creamy puddling (photo as on the top), then we were treated by the creamy and milky cheese dessert with nuts and caramel sauce. Each taste was just to the point, not too heavy and as the perfect ending for the whole Sunday morning.

It was our 15th year wedding anniversary and we decided to try something new and unique. We were recommended to try Pirata and made bookings for 3 to dine in for lunch. Place was packed when we arrived...good thing we booked in advance. Sat down and ordered butcher's cut for two to share. This antipasti buffet is included in the lunch set. Really good value for money with a good selection of quality salad, beef, pasta and most important...parma ham!!  This is not to be missed as the selection is top notch. Even something as simple as the bread (free flow) tasted fresh and crunchy!

The last bit of the set ended with some great desert, tasted like a combination of vanilla ice cream with some nuts and chocolate sundae. In any case it was a nice way to finish off our lunch...couldn't finish it because we were all too full!

It's always good to celebrate our wedding anniversary with top notch quality food that's served in a unique way!

Vitello Tonnato($100):XO仔少食西餐,菜式上枱時都未知碟上薄薄o既奶啡色醬底原來暗藏牛仔肉薄層,要契妹刻意用刀揭開先知,真係大鄉里
!冷盤o既牛仔肉帶點嚡口,面層o既忌廉醬剛好為肉片加咗少少濕滑感,都幾得意,不過就好似咸咗少少。

點好Menu嘅之後我哋想睇下嗰野飲menu啦,Pirata的店主Manuel介紹咗90後緊一個refreshing嘅cocktail,但係完全無話俾佢聽cocktail係用啲咩野去整嘅,仲要拍晒心咁講話如果佢唔鍾意個杯cocktail,今晚我哋兩個人嘅晚餐就入佢數,嘩!好有型呀! 咁我哋就叫咗嗰杯嘢飲啦同埋80後就好快咁叫咗杯甜白酒。

好快90後嘅cocktail 就到咗啦,90後一飲之下,想扮唔鍾意都唔得,因為好好飲,完全符合佢想要嘅,一問之下發現,cocktail嘅base係Bombay Sapphire, 用咗蛋白、檸檬汁丶一些野莓,叫做Philadelphia! 真心係推介!

先來上檯嘅就係M.M.M (my mamma's meatballs,外國人嘅肉丸比起亞洲人肉丸來講比較鬆軟,肉汁比較豐富,加入一啲麵包碎,為求吸咗個啲肉汁同埋配上嘅醬汁。意大利人比較多數用上自家製嘅番茄醬。今次依個肉丸肉味香濃,酸酸甜甜嘅蕃茄在感覺新鮮配合得好好,分量方便非常大總共有三粒肉丸完全冇因為係特價Menu而減料。第二上檯嘅就係asparagus flan依一味餸係香港比較難食到,口味係似一個好鬆軟的海綿,黑色入口嘅時候口裏面充滿住asparagus 嘅清香,個底即係芝士白汁好香濃的芝士味超正!80後同90後啊食咗成籃嘅麵包去點個芝士醬,好似幫人洗左隻碗咁。最後tapas頭盤就係白酒煮青口,青口本身個學就唔係好細隻但係都唔係大隻嗰啲嚟嘅,但煮咗出嚟之後青口肉變得好細,應該係用雪藏貨。味道來講不過不失沒有什麼特別。

Pasta 有兩種分別就係 Pappardelle Duck Ragu 同埋Tagliolini with Black Truffle,兩種pasta都係自家製嘅,食得出好香嘅麥味同蛋味,住得啱啱好唔會太𣺉都唔會太硬,唔會好似係意大利食嘅pasta咁al dente。重頭戲真係要講下嗰個黑松露意大利粉,意大利粉一上台松露嘅味道已經離遠都聞到,仲要喺意大利粉上加上好多好多黑松露嘅薄片,立刻心心眼,食落去完全冇失望,個口完全充滿着黑松露嘅香氣,味道好清,唔會太過火。真係值得一讚! (但記得一定一上台就要食,如果唔係啲pasta就會黐埋一齊)

食到嚟到依一刻,真係飽到上心口。但係仲有主菜同甜品仲未上。主菜包括:The butcher's cut (flank steak) 同埋 Eggplant Parmigiana. flank steak 係好juice嘅牛扒之一,好𣺉而且肉味濃郁!上枱是你可以見到肉係比較散嘅但係食落去一啲都唔會太多血水。而Eggplant Parmigian就好似eggplant lasagna咁,一層番茄醬一層芝士一層茄子,茄子做到不太𣺉pat pat,但是因為太飽所以試咗就沒有食落去。90後包咗去作為明天嘅午餐。

終於到最後嘅甜品啦!首先要介紹一下90後一食入口就大叫好好味呀!媽咪呀!嘅 Panna Cotta 80後都試下先,依據真係好滑,奶味好重,而且上面個野莓果醬做得剛剛好唔會太甜,而且唔會太酸match 返奶凍的甜,正! 相比之下我對 [Crush Chocolate and dry nuts Semifreddo] 覺得簡單咗啲,一些朱古力碎,合桃碎等層次豐富, 甜味剛剛好。

個肉同岩先既optopus一樣,煎得剛剛好
食落唔韌,但又唔會生到好似食緊剌生咁
而且用料好靚,好有肉味
唔單止個肉好食,連配菜都掂
其實小公主平日係好唔中意食沙律菜
由其是係rocket,因為覺得苦同埋有d奇怪既味
但當日既Rocket可能好新鮮用左好多olive oil撈既關係,
一d都唔苦,好好食

set lunch 148-248,包甜品,不包飲品,上菜速度不算快。原本完全沒有期待set lunch的salad bar,結果出乎意料的好呢,種類真是很齊全,食材質素也很好。主菜選擇寬麵條,pasta要價第二renge  198,嘗過之後,知道原因,不是sauce的簡單勾兌,寬麵條也很有手工感。飯腳說想炒刀削,哈哈哈,是呢。甜品嚴重推薦semifreddo,實在太好吃了,如果要價80,我也會說好吃的好吃呢~飯店環境,食物非常對得起價格,加一不會自動加在帳單里,放進tips box,多少任君選擇。在望得到的時間裡同飯腳的最後一次lunch,感謝這樣的食物環境。

I went to Pirata for Restaurant Week with 3 friends, and we had a great time!  The food was amazing and the service was excellent (the best I’ve had in Hong Kong in my 2+ years living here). The Restaurant Week menu was very generous… 3 appetizers to share among 2 people (since we were 4 people, they brought us 6 different types of appetizers so we could try a greater variety of food), we each had a pasta (pappardelle with duck ragu, or tagliolini with black truffle, and both were delicious), we each had a main (flank steak or eggplant parmigiana; again, both were delicious), and we each had a dessert (they offered to bring us 4 different desserts, again so could try a greater variety… we happily accepted their offer)!  Needless to say, we had more than enough food, and we left feeling completely stuffed and satisfied.  We ordered a bottle of wine, and each paid about HK$500, which we felt was completely fair for the amount and quality of food, wine and the excellent service.  The assistant manager Joanna came to our table several times to make sure everything was perfect… she was extremely friendly and hospitable, and very accommodating (it was Joanna’s suggestion for us to try 6 different appetizers and 4 different desserts)… we were shocked that a restaurant would be flexible/accommodating with their Restaurant Week menu… typically, restaurants in Hong Kong don’t accommodate substitutions, or offer this level of service.  The restaurant was busy but didn’t feel crowded, and it had a great atmosphere and vibe.  We really enjoyed the decor and the views from the 30th floor.  This restaurant is an absolute must-try… I will certainly be going back soon!
Be sure to try the pappardelle with duck ragu (pasta dish), which seemed to be freshly made and cooked to perfection (the pasta was just the right amount of al dente)... we also suggest the fresh garden tomato bruschetta (made with italian egg, pecorino cheese and mint)... it was extremely refreshing!  The bruschetta toast was warm and had a nice crunch, and the tomatoes were cold and fresh... a delicious combination.

至於條Seabass鱸魚,我會將佢定為是日精選,用rosemary , 蒜頭、橄欖、薯仔、蕃茄,原條grill,少少腥味都冇,只有魚的鮮味,下次去,牛可以唔食,魚一定要食。

由於不知道點了什麼,當端上枱時,以為是hummus一類東西,豆茸或茄茸..誰知底下是牛仔肉片,送到口𥚃細嚼,一時三刻竟分辨不出paste屬性來,只道是滿載童年味道,原來揭盅是~~~呑拿魚!!

這是另一個must eat item,medium rare flank steak烤得剛好,以rocket,cherry tomatoes去balance牛腹肉肥美肉香,無敵companions,輸不了.

不需多加説明,看看勢頭,真的假不了,五款芝士兩種nuts,還有honey和caramel onion(?)..每樣都很濃郁味美,配上加熱的麵包,已滿足得無話可説.

口感稍微偏實正,很有內容的感覺,奶香濃郁不過幼滑不足..

在Pirata用餐,預了是share dish,三至六個人很prefect,一張枱剛剛好,少人難叫菜,多人又有點吵..美味食物也要有良朋,佳餚美酒,歡度一個晚上..這才是Fellini鏡頭外la dolce vita!

A friend chose this place for a birthday dinner, supposedly a lot of blogger have spoken highly of it, let's find out:The hostess at the door greeted me with a smile and a friendly "hi", after looking up my party's location in the their system, just about to lead me to my table, she was distracted by another customer who just walked in, jumped in front of me and asked where her table is; instead of telling her to wait, the hostess actually helped her first and left me waiting... The hostess at the door greeted me with a smile and a friendly "hi", after looking up my party's location in the their system, just about to lead me to my table, she was distracted by another customer who just walked in, jumped in front of me and asked where her table is; instead of telling her to wait, the hostess actually helped her first and left me waiting... Could be handled better... 

We got a dime corner with a comfy sofa, long table, however it was not easy for us to get servers attention... On average we had to wave a couple time before we could get anyone, even if they were just here pouring wine, they still won't respond to our "exercise me"s... At least they do change plates and utensils once between appetizersss and the mains. They really need to do a better job in service training... 

Portions are small for every dish we had. Cold cuts and cheese was standard, signature dish "Vitello tonnato" was disappointing, taste like any regular tuna mayo spread, veal wasn't particularly tenter either.

Cheeses frittata, meatball (MMM), croquette, barely passed, not worth mentioning... Truffle linguini was quite alright, rich in truffle flavor but could use a bit more salt; on the other hand, lasagna was really salty... 

The only dish that I would call good was the suckling pig, hot, crispy and tender.

Desserts!! Given the quality of all previous dishes, we weren't even gonna try them, but we did anyways, and I'm glad. They were all very well done! Panna cotta was very smooth in texture and rich in flavor; tiramisu is very smooth as well with a great balance of coffee and liquor taste! Chocolate ganache cake was just okay, taste like those frozen ones you can buy from the store. 

I'll give it an Okay rating for now, lots of room for
Improvement.

Refillable Salumi Platter – Part of Semi-Buffet Brunch
With Parma Ham, Salami, Turkey Ham. Later the Parma was changed to a Coppacolla Ham.  Very good quality ! ~ 9/10

Vitello Tonnato – Tuna Mayonnaise of Veal Meat
Another Italian staple starter. I have seen it done with Quenelles of the tuna-mayo to reveal the meal underneath cleverly, I have seen the Veal substituted with Tongue instead. But this honest version was perfectly tuned and topped with Caperberry. ~ 9/10

A Side Salad from the Anti-Pasti Buffet Bar -
It has plenty of red onions and olives, and some peppers. Kind of Mediterranean in spirit. ~ 7/10

Also unlimited. Today’s batch was a little too salty. However the ingredients and texture was done well and reminds one of a Spanish Tortilla or a French Quiche as usual just too salty today. ~ 7.5/10

Duck Ragu on Home-made Pappardelle Pasta -
Part of the Lunch Main Course. Topped with plenty of freshly shaved Parmesan cheese as an option and of Rosemary herbs. The duck meat was hand diced and although were a little dense, had the perfect seasoning but the pasta was amazing accurate - good wheat and eggy taste, lovely thickness so it carries a bite to suit the heavier duck meat and rosemary influence. ~ 8.5/10 (Would have been totally perfect if the Duck Ragu was less dense)

Baked Salmon with Cream Cheese, Sautéed Zucchini, Mixed Salad –  $198 with Above Buffet Lunch
This was done like a roll and requires some meticulous skills, which defers fom the usual big Salmon blocks from an American Diner as you can presume. The layerings were calculatively precise and likeable. I don’t mind more Cream Cheese .. ~ 8.5/10

Panna Cotta with House-Made Raspberry Coulis, Fresh Raspberry -
This was done alright and 1 part of me says I was so bored just typing this description, another part of me says this is ok solid. Time to reflect upon yourself on whether your Final Judgment is still a subjective matter, or you can see through it and hope to cater for the masses. WE are all going through our own discoveries in life… ~ 7.5/10

Price: $168 to $228 + 10% (Lunch)
