表姐為老公仔慶生,特意由新加坡飛黎香港,於紐約過江龍「Carbone Hong Kong」大宴家人十多位。入門口到埋位一刻,除咗喺餐牌封面之外,四周都唔多覺眼有餐廳個大名,就連接待處都冇,如果唔係對應到訂座記錄,真係有啲驚自己去錯地方。由升降機大堂通往用餐區必先路經面積頗大嘅酒吧房。兩位忙碌中嘅酒保見小肥影相,仲搞笑地擺哂蒲士,有趣得很。西餐廳用上瓷磚地面,配上皮櫈及洋畫,七彩嘅裝潢個人就覺得睇到有啲眼花花。最靚反而係具歐陸式風味,較傳統嘅吊燈。貼牆一邊有一排半卡位合併式散座,一邊有梳化,另一邊則為有柄嘅椅櫈,望落應最為舒適。女士們提出有一點好奇怪,就係堂內大部份椅櫈冇柄兼有窿,而且弧形椅框冇勾位,基本上冇位放手袋或隨手物,連除下件薄褸都不斷滑落地下,設計頗有問題。細佬慣性地早到,邊等邊研究餐牌。據悉,午市可選二人份量之套餐,三道菜均可選一,價格為$388/位,另收加一服務費。唔想食套餐的話,亦可從兩頁散點餐牌點菜。由於所有菜式都係設計俾食客分黎食,每個位前面早已放有齊備嘅餐具。主人家非常客氣,又開香檳又開紅酒,XO仔睇過酒牌先知咩價位。生日會飲兩杯,慶祝吓原本係件快樂事,無奈當日發生咗段小插曲。。。因飯局有成十四個人之多,表姐一到步就叫咗兩樽單售$1,528嘅粉紅色香檳,好等大家一同碰杯,祝賀一番。其實食飯中途服務生都有為客人斟添佳釀,點知到食完甜品,埋完單後,排隊去一趟洗手間時,竟然發現餐桌後方個冰桶入面仲有半枝香檳剩,所以就即刻通知家人,叫佢地調查吓會唔會係我地嘅;哈,原來真係喎,咁想問一問,假使細佬未有及時察覺的話,服務生係咪唔會知會一聲呢?!嗰半樽香檳最後下場又會係點呢?!講完故仔就講返啲食物先。主人家點好餸菜後,服務生隨即送上四款小食(由於唔洗自己俾錢,故價錢不詳),當中小肥冇試到芝士方塊。。。亦冇食到碟橄欖,只係留意到兩隻碟仔有不少崩裂痕跡,唔多襯餐牌上所見到高級嘅價位囉!外表金黃嘅蒜蓉包顏色就靚啦,可惜溫度屬和暖,咬落脆得黎有啲硬,且包身質感過韌,不吃也吧。薄薄嘅意大利腸腸salami砌到成朵花咁鮮美,入口即覺香潤惹味,唔怪得知要配返隻完整無缺嘅白碟啦,身價明顯比其他小食高。Caesar alla ZZ – Baby Romaine, House Croutons, Ricotta Salata:午市套餐第一道菜可由三款頭盤或三款意大利粉揀。頭盤凱撒沙律有專人即場撈製。沙律中嘅BB羅馬生菜色澤鮮麗,食落爽脆香甜又夠水份。菜式敗筆在於啲大大粒嘅croutons偏腍且唔得香口。Spicy Rigatoni Vodka - Tomato, Onion, Calabrian Chili:整頓壽宴最正就係兩碟橙綠意大利粉,不同形狀嘅意粉麵條均煙韌彈牙,醬汁濕潤得黎完全唔杰。第一款橙色代表用上蕃茄、洋蔥、辣椒等調味,味道香濃中帶點辣勁,當真醒神又醒胃!唯一唔得大體用上隻崩邊碟同偏少嘅份量。Gemelli Salsicce – Italian Sausage, Broccoli, Pecorino:第二味綠色嘅通心粉食落好重西蘭花味,意外地卻毫不苦澀,平時唔多鍾意食西蘭花嘅長輩們個個都話個菜味十分討好,極易入口,只係如果師傅可以落多少少意腸,份量可以加多一倍就更加理想。Ribeye Diana – Meats by Linz, Pancetta, Cacciatore Sauce:主菜清一色要哂肉眼扒,每份均已預先切開成五片,汁液另上。如相所示,「medium rare」嘅牛扒右邊還好見到紅潤嘅部份,不過左邊好明確過熟得很!肉眼扒唔得鬆軟,肉質偏韌難咬,請恕小弟直言,真係唔食得過!Potatoes Sergio($128):除咗叫咗十人份量嘅午市套餐之外,表姐仲叫咗三款配菜,全為$128/客。第一款薯仔冇試到,只係影咗幅相作記錄。Funghi Trifolati – Mushrooms, Garlic, Herbs($128):第二款雜菌潤而不膩,芳香惹味。Broccoli AOP – Garlic, Olive Oil, Peperoncino($128):第三款西蘭花油潤有光澤,入口清香爽甜,比主菜牛扒美味得多。最後甜品一環其實只有三款可選擇,分別為甘筍蛋糕、朱古力蛋糕、檸檬芝士蛋糕。只係當經理哥哥推出甜品車時,全枱人都爭住話想食有手指餅圍住嘅tiramisu,點知佢答話車上只為陳列品,午餐唔包提拉米蘇。Blackout Cake:層次分明嘅朱古力蛋糕口感同味道都非常豐富。頂面嘅朱古力濃郁柔滑,邊邊位嘅朱古力粉粒增添脆口,兩層海綿蛋糕又夠鬆軟,隔住兩層乳酪忌廉夾心相當柔潤輕型。由紐約開黎香港嘅「Carbone Hong Kong」論環境同氣氛都還可以,但係啲冇柄椅櫈就有啲蝦女士們及肥肥家族坐。餐店服務生之態度及專業程度十分參差,另家人最不爽當然係嗰枝差啲冇飲到嘅四位數字粉紅色香檳啦!得悉午餐要成萬二蚊時,XO仔不禁質疑餐飯貴得有否道理!平均近千元嘅午餐講真只有兩款意大利粉味道最佳,以每兩人一碟黎計就絕對唔夠食;成餐飯最劣都可以話係主菜塊又嚡又韌嘅牛扒;最接受唔到就係崩角裂邊嘅餐具,以及餐廳竟然唔斟哂啲酒,亦冇知會聲埋緊單位主人家有酒剩,莫非十四人都生得似水魚?!「Carbone」可能喺美國經營得好出色,但個人覺得店子香港間分店實在貴得無理,不甚明白如何可於香港企穩陣腳。 繼續閱讀

Subject line sums up what Carbone offers in a nutshell. Food is cooked to a high standard whilst services can be a little intrusive at times. Highlight of the evening, to my surprise was the lamb sardo pasta! Al dente!Overall a good experience but won’t be returning in a rush. 繼續閱讀

Causal Thursday lunch with hubby, he chose the restaurant this time. Very cozy old American style deco, not too nosy, we arrived around 1230 and was seated immediately, booked it just the night before onlineAs I’m pregnant we just hv bottled water which was refilled frequently. The starters are nicely done particularly with the bread, it’s crispy outside but soft inside with a not so boring taste. Salami olive and cheese taste normal. But hope they would improve the plate, $400 per head lunch is not pricy but not cheap as well in Central so I expect an fully intact plate is a basic courtesy of an upscale restaurant? The sauce is a bit spicy creamy cheese sort of, pasta texture is nicely done. We ordered medium steak (as I can’t eat sth too rare these days) which is done to our satisfaction, the sauce is really tasty and match with the chargrilled steak, can’t help but to ask the waiter what it’s made of and was given a quite comprehensive answer. Dessert trolly Lemon cheese cake, it’s refreshing and not too sweet and heavy~ $400 per head, it’s a gd portion for us two as we hv relatively small appetite, and I like it this way more than the traditional American dish whose portion size is usually alarmingly large and remind me of wastage ~~ 繼續閱讀

Can't wait to write a bad comment here after having the dinner tonight and paying for the extremely overpriced meal!Had read the openrice comments before coming and heard that this once 1-star Michelin restaurant is good and worth trying, then booked the table. At that time, I thought I was lucky to get the seats! But after sitting down, I realize the restaurant just sucks! The environment is very noisy! And all food we ordered was terrible!My friend first told me the Octopus appetizer was bad! She even cannot cut that or swallow that! So we cancelled the dish. For the main course, we ordered the kind of "famous" Spicy Rigatoni. It was in small portion! $228 for two persons! Taste just so-so. Another main dish was ribs. It was terrible! The pork was tasteless and dry! The sauce was too sour and the side veggies were terrible - super salty! However, this dish costs $498!!! I don't think we would eat it even if it is free! When the waiter asked us, we honestly told him our comments and he suggested changing to fish. 😡Okay, we changed to Turbot fish. In 3 minutes, the fish was ready! You can imagine it is just ready made! What the hell the 3 small pieces of fish were deep fried and served with cream sauce only! Totally frozen fish and worse than fish and chips! It costs $488! 🤬Regarding the drinks, we were pushed to order sparkling water, costing $136/2 pax. As it was hot, I just wanted to order something cold. The whole wine list was overpriced - nearly $200+ for just a glass of wine. I ordered a glass of Cuvee Champagne which costs $228! Crazy! The worst thing was the flute was only half-filled! Totally cheating for this overpriced glass! The waiter kept persuading us to order the cakes which were placed on the trolly for probably whole day! We of course turned down! 😒Finally, the bill - $1,188 for these actually 2 courses! Crazily overpriced and not worth! We think those food only worth less than $500! 😠😡There should be more choices in the same tower or nearby! We would love to pay the meal if ir taste good! The Michelin 1 starred restaurant in New York has made its way to Hong Kong and I finally paid a visit. It was an unexpected lunch on Valentine’s Day, I wasn’t with my boyfriend but my colleagues.  After we have settled down, the server gave us the menu, bread basket and some cold cut to start. I was already impressed by its little details, the bread basket wasn’t just sliced baguettes, it was toasted bread with butter, cheese and spices. They have presented the salami like a flower, which made it more appealing. Also, they have cut out some cheese cubes from the giant parmesan cheese and it was good. And did I mention all the bread and cold cut were complimentary and unlimited? So hell yes, we can’t say no to round two.You can choose between the appetizer or pasta to start and highly recommend to order this Spicy Rigatoni Vodka, it is one of the must-try and signature dishes here! It was served in a beautiful and floral plate and it smelled soooooo good. The marconi was cooked perfectly, its al dente texture was matching with that creamy yet slightly spicy sauce. This was a very simple and basic dish however it was just faultless.My colleagues also ordered a Lobster Ravioli from the a la carte menu, nevertheless I am allergic to shellfish, so I can only stared at it. It certainly looked delicious and my colleagues quite enjoyed it. Next would be the main course, I have chosen the Steak Diane to share. It was a huge piece of ribeye paired with fruit made sauce, its sourness can balance the heaviness of the steak. I like the ribeye was thick but still carried a tender texture and you got to eat with the mushrooms on the side. The steak was pretty good, but the Spicy Rigatoni Vodka still has my stomach and my heart lol!You wouldn’t want to miss the desserts here, there were plenty of options to choose from, Carrot Cake, Tiramisu, Lemon Cheesecake, Blackout Cake and freshly made Banana Flambe. Presentations surely connect and affect the taste of the dishes, such as this Carrot Cake, it was presented with a unique and pretty plate, which I can tell it would be tasty from its presentation. Moreover it wasn’t in regular cylinder or cube shape, it was more similar to a mountain, a sweet and yummy mountain. It was paired with a scoop of sorbet, I can’t tell what flavour was that yet it was light and a bit refreshing. The cake itself wasn’t too sweet, I love it infused with some nuts, however I wasn’t a big fan for those butter cream on top.Another dessert was Tiramisu, how can you miss out the tiramisu at the Italian restaurant? It had a light coffee flavour, yet strong in alcohol taste. The texture was quite smooth, hence the baked buttery cake on top can add a bit of texture to it.Last by not least, the best dessert here, Banana Flambe. And there was a small performance for this dessert, the server will make the dessert right in front of you. First they added the banana with sugar in the pan, then turned it into caramelised banana. Afterward place three scoops of vanilla icecream on top and sprinkled with some almond biscuit crunchies. The sweetness was delightful and its rich texture was just addictive, it will make you go gaga, spoon after spoon! 繼續閱讀
