Decor:

Food: starting with the rice, both the temperature and the acidity was spot on but it was too loose. About half of the pieces had rice fall apart even when I was using my hand as opposed to chopsticks. Perhaps it is because the restaurant was fully packed and the chefs were rushing. On the other hand, the quality of the fish was very good - favorites were the Kohada and the Aji, the uni is also of very high quality. Disappointed that you have to apply your own soysauce here - at most other sushi bars the chef will apply the soy sauce for you.

Service: below average service, one of the diner in the group is served first while we watched and waited. This, to me, is unacceptable for a sushi house of this calibre. I have actually never had a sushi meal where one diner is served before the other in the same group. In addition, they also forgot to serve a couple of pieces and we had to remind the waiters. Due to them trying to turnover as fast as possible, we were asked to leave a few times before we even finished the food.

Overall I think the quality of the rice and fish was very high at Sushi Shin, it is unfortunate that the details (rice being too loose, no applicatino of soy sauce etc.) were lacking and the service was, at best, subpar.
