I took some overseas visitors to this restaurant for lunch today. We waited for over 30min after placing our order and only one dish was served. When I approached the waitress and asked her politely how much longer we had to wait for the rest of the food, she replied bluntly that I could see they were working on it and said if one should not expect timely service at a small place like there. The overall quality of the food is just mediocre. The soup served was cold and the taste for the omelette and the burger is just ok but definitely not worth the price they charged. On the service, one should not compromise the quality of service by using labor shortage as an excuse. If you decide to charge the kind of price for your food, you should make sure you have adequate manpower to deliver your service. But the major problem with me is the server’s attitude. She could have nicely explained the manpower problem and perhaps an apology would have been fine - instead of bluntly saying “ can’t you see we are working on it. You can’t expect timely service in a small restaurant like ours”.
