Tonight we visited the Rei Japanese Restaurant for the first time. We ordered some sushi rolls, cod fish , fried rice and fried assorted vegetables. Generally the food was slow and the service was fairly average. First of all, the rice (very small) came after we have finished with the cod. Secondly, what they called "Assorted vegetables" on the menu turned out to be 90% bean sprouts and 10% other vegetables such as mushrooms and carrot. You had to "find" the other vegetables as it was predomimently a bean sprout dish. We were expecting assorted vegetables to be a good mix of corn, mushrooms, green vegetables, egg plants and carrots etc. As we all know, bean sprouts are really cheap and the cost of the whole dish was probably under HK$10. When we told the waitress and asked her to pass our feedback to the manager, she only apologised. The manager never came to talk to us, and the dish (we almost left the whole dish) was charged in full.
The verdict is, we will never go to Rei again.
