Having been a long time fan of Openrice but never a writer. Time to break my virginity after visiting this small Thai 'Cha Chan Tang" close to home.I am a big big hotpot fan and like to discover when theres a new hotpot spot. I am a big big hotpot fan and like to discover when theres a new hotpot spot. I visited this place for lunch in the past and thought their food was decent. Few weeks back I found they had Groupon for a hotpot set of 2 on sale and decided to give it a try with 2 friends when it was freezing cold at 12 degrees out there.
We were seated at the quiet corner and given the menu for the hotpot set. First thing to order had to be a BEER!
Seafood set: shrimps x 2 , clams, squid, few slices of fish, and fishballs, etc...
Beef set: few slices of beef, beef balls, viet ham and slices of abalone etc..
Each set was also filled with bunch of veggie, corn, dried bean curd, vermicelli and deep fried bean curd x 2
The chef ( and i guess he is the boss) came out from the kitchen towards the end of our meal asking for our feedback .. we complimented their soup base with the beef and he suggested us we could try the hot and sour soup (with "BB level" spicyness) with seafood next time around...
All in all, it was a very satisfying meal to the three of us .. high quality hotpot for $80 bucks per head (with a few beers, extra beef and veggie). I would come back again even without groupon during this cold winter (regular price @ $68 bucks per set) ..
Keep up the good work!
题外话/补充资料:
The chef told us we could order a non-spicy version of the salad upon request.
The staff was friendly especially the chef (the suspicious boss :P)
