My youngest daughter loves Japanese food and especially raw salmon.So when we took her to iSquare for the first time to see where we could have dinner, she dutifully went around looking at all the choices and then only had eyes for this sushi restaurant. Of the dishes we ordered:
Crab soup was delicious and had a few crab pieces inside, did not have sweet taste as it was frozen Japanese crab.
Clam soup was like dishwater, tasteless and unappetising in appearance
Butter scallops were tasty and there were 10, more than enough for us. They tasted sweet and appetising
Apart from the salmon sashimi, we ordered 2 types of crab sushi and both were fine and quite HK style looking
Crab roe salad was mainly crab roe with thinly shredded cucumber. As I am the only person in my family who eats cucumber, I had to eat most of that dish
Eel with cheese sushi was too salty. Both eel and cheese are salty ingredients and together they made the dish quite unacceptable. Again like a HK type invention.
Deep fried oysters were unexciting. Like the same dish in any other Japanese restaurant.
We had a lot for the 3 of us and found most dishes to be exceptionally reasonable for somewhere comfortable in a new shopping centre. None of the dishes were over $50.
The service was attentive but the table was sticky and I had to wipe it with my wet tissue. The dinner was pleasant but not spectacular enough for us to come back to.
