It was Yorokobu’s first time to offer sake pairing dinner. I quickly signed up for it. Five 青雲 sakes were offered to pair the courses. On balance, the pairing was well thought out. Highlights of the evening:- the deep fried corn fritter with cod roe (mentaiko) was crisp and light - the shredded squid with white corn in tomato essence was refreshing- both marinated octopus abalone were super tender as usual- can never go wrong with Hokkaido Murasaki sea urchin; flavor was sweet and intense. - oys

It was Yorokobu’s first time to offer sake pairing dinner. I quickly signed up for it.

Five 青雲 sakes were offered to pair the courses. On balance, the pairing was well thought out.

Highlights of the evening:
- the deep fried corn fritter with cod roe (mentaiko) was crisp and light
- the shredded squid with white corn in tomato essence was refreshing
- both marinated octopus abalone were super tender as usual
- can never go wrong with Hokkaido Murasaki sea urchin; flavor was sweet and intense.
- oyster came with certificate of origin - Iwate prefecture; crisp and a bit creamy, and did not have heavy metallic aftertaste.
- botan shrimp was fresh from the tank and was taken apart in front of us; meat was firm and sweet.
- o toro came from the same supplier that sells to Sushi Jiro !!! It melted in my mouth.
- the Ishigakigai was swimming fresh - one tap to the body and it immediately firmed up.
