I went to the Greyhound Cafe at the IFC with three of my friends. We made a reservation and were promptly seated at our table without having to wait. The menu has a lot of different options, and I would probably go again to give some other things a try. The waiter seemed very confused when I was ordering, and did not seem familiar with the menu. I ordered in English, but he repeated everything to me in Cantonese, even though I just told him what number I wanted. Throughout our meal, we were sitt
Appetizers:
This was really delicious, although a little bit spicy, it gives you just enough of a kick.
These rolls were really fresh, and the sauce that goes with the leaf and roll was very good.
Main Courses:
When all the ingredients are mixed together, it was tasty, but a little bit too oily for my taste.
This was presented very well and the herb sauce was great.
We also had a noodle dish called the Miss Saigon, but there was nothing special about that dish
Desserts: (This was by far the best part of the evening)
The texture was perfect, and the strawberry coulis was very well made.
The cake was not as warm as I would have liked, but the presentation was good.
A fantastic combination, and not too heavy. A must try.
This apple crumble had more crumble than apple, which I personally believe is the best part. Although some of the crumble did not actually crumble in your mouth, it was more like an overcooked cookie. However, I found this a refreshing take on a classic dessert.
Overall, I had a good evening chumming with my friends. The service leaves a lot to be desired, but I will come back to give some other dishes a whirl.
