Lately, there has a been a number of restaurants that are offering to cook seafood via steam method that takes place right at your table. Steaming your food has been advocated by many publications to be healthy as there is no need for excess oil to be added in the cooking process. Steaming your food has been advocated by many publications to be healthy as there is no need for excess oil to be added in the cooking process. Since boyfriend and I have tried a few already, we decided to try this one after some advice from a coworker.

The restaurant is curiously located on the second floor. The first floor is the reception area. The second floor is spacious and there are stainless steel steam stations on each table. Menu is in Chinese only. After a bit of indecisiveness, boyfriend and I decided to choose the set that costs $268 per person.

We were given two cold appetizers to munch on while waiting. Marinated jews ear and chili cucumbers. Both had a nice crunch and were not too spicy.

The staff started by creating the congee. Rice, chicken meat and pumpkin were placed in the bottom of the steamer. This would cook throughout the meal and would be  ready by the time we finished everything.

A stainless steal steamer rack was placed on top and then it began. Each item of food was placed on top. A timer was set. When it rang, the food was ready to eat.

We started with a steamed egg with truffle paste. The egg was just cooked so it wasn't hard and rubbery but still at the smooth watery stage. The mixture of truffle flavored the egg.

The set included two prawn per person. The prawn were very fresh and tasted extremely sweet.

Set also included two giant clams. These were really good. I think my favorite from the bunch I ate. Cooked just right so it wasn't rubbery. The taste of this lingered in my mouth for some time.

One abalone per person that was topped with cordyceps was the next item. The abalone was ok. Somehow the taste of the cordyceps overrode everything.

The set included one scallop per person. This was topped with vermicelli and garlic. Size of the scallop was fairly big. Steaming this relied purely on the freshness of the scallop to flavor the vermicelli and it did just that.

A plate of sliced chicken and squid was steamed next. This was alright. The squid was soft though the chicken was a bit bland. Thus, a bit of extra seasoning that was found on the table was needed.

The set included a shitake mushroom stuffed with dace. A simple item commonly found on the plates of most homes. I liked it for it's simplicity.

Steamed mini sweet potatoes were also given. I wasn't much of a potato fan but boyfriend loved it. He felt they were perfectly soft and sweet without being grainy.

There were also some steamed choi sum. I neglected to take a photo. As it was steamed, it was pretty healthy. Though not seasoned. Seasoning is done by using the soy sauce found on the table.

The meal was ended with congee. The congee was sweetened by the juices that dripped from the seafood that was steamed above. The pumpkin and chicken flavored it slightly as it tasted mostly of the seafood juices.

The meal included dessert of coconut pudding with red bean. This was alright though the taste of coconut was not strong.

The set was pretty good value for money as it did offer quite a decent selection of everything for around $300 per person. You can't get any more value than that. The highlight is still the seafood. It was fresh and is what one looks for when eating steamed food as you can't hide anything if it's not fresh.
