Kasa (家香) has been one of my go-to places for afternoon snack since late last year and I decided to check them out again, despite a so-so lunch experience about a month ago.
Starting things off for me was a tall glass of "black cow" (黑牛), a mixture of coke and vanilla ice-cream. This is an all-time classic at the local "cha chaan teng" (tea restaurant 茶餐廳). That was so thirst quenching!

Of course, the key here is to mix the egg yolk well with the egg white, char siu and ginger mayo. Very tasty.
I saw this Kasa style molten sesame custard lava cake (芝麻流沙心太軟) on the social network last month and was wondering how it stacks up against the original duck yolk custard flavor.

Turns out it was not as sweet as I thought it would be. The black sesame custard was really rich and creamy the way I like it but I found the flavors to be less compatible than the duck yolk custard version.
I'm often known to have a soft spot for Chinese fusion food so no question Kasa gets my vote as one of the best places for afternoon snacks in Wanchai.
