The ramen was good. Just the right texture for me and the egg and pork shoulder was satisfactory. However the broth was not what I hoped - it didn't have any kick to it. Although you could taste the truffle it was more of a creamy taste and that made the soup lack contrast / taste a bit monotone. The aburi chashu was aromatic and smelled great, but it was a bit too oily for my taste. When combined with the creamy soup base, the chashu just felt a bit too fatty and sickly. Perhaps it would have went better with spicy or sharper flavours.

Perhaps the saving grace of the meal was that Kanada-ya is running a loyalty card programme and our meal (~$350 in total for 2 people) managed to rack up 7 stamps, so we can get a lot of free food upon our next visit - if we do go again.
