This one person Shabu Shabu spot Panyin Shabu imports premium black wagyu from Kumamoto which is less fatty and has a rich meaty flavour. 🥩🍲 ✨ We ordered their Kanto-style Sukiyaki Lunch Set. This includes meat, vegetables, shrimp paste, dessert and rice (or +$15 hkd to upgrade to udon) 🍲 Pic 1️⃣: Wagyu Beef A4 Standard Set - Chuck Roll (120g) - $268 hkd 🥩 — Pretty decent marbling on these cuts and definitely lived up to its price point. Meat was very tender but lacked a rich meaty flavour to it.

— Pretty decent marbling on these cuts and definitely lived up to its price point. Meat was very tender but lacked a rich meaty flavour to it. Personally thought this went better with the sweet soy sauce and sesame dipping sauce over the egg yolk as the meat was not as smooth as the knuckle.

— Compared to the chuck roll, I actually enjoyed the knuckle a lot more as the flavours were a lot richer and meatier. This was also extremely tender, and went perfectly with the egg yolk dipping sauce as it made the meat texture seem even smoother.

— Soup wise, flavours were on point and the soup base was really flavourful. Both cuts of meat absorbed the flavours really well and there was a perfect balance of sweetness and savouriness to it.
Pic 5️⃣: Vegetables and Shrimp Paste
— A good variety of veggies which were fresh and crisp. I loved the shrimp paste as this was really well seasoned and had a bouncy texture.
Pic 6️⃣: Udon - additional $15 hkd 🍜
— Perfect accompaniment to shabu shabu, really soaked up all the flavours of the soup.
Pic 7️⃣: Dessert - Matcha Warabi Mochi
— Good way to end the meal. The warabi mochi was super chewy and the matcha taste was strong too.
