During Chinese New Year, there were few days public holiday for us to relax, thus my wife and I went to Mongkok to shop around and to feel the New Year's atmosphere. Most of the restaurants were closed for that few days' holiday, thus there were not much choices for us. While walking along Tung Choi Street, we saw Kaifong cafe and there were alot of customers inside, thus we decided to give it a try. It was located at Tung Choi Street, couple of minutes walk from Mongkok MTR. They served dinner
They served dinner set during dinner time and there were few choices for us to choose from. It consisted of soup, appetizer, main course and drinks. The price ranged from $128 to $218.
Fake shark fin soup - It was basically vegetarian version of shark fin soup. There were mushroom and egg in it. The texture was sticky and smooth, and veinegar and pepper helped to enhance the taste.
Caesar salad - The salad was crunchy and fresh, and it goes well with the bread crumbs and bacon bits in it. Cheese flakes were provided in it as well.
Boston lobster cabonara shahe fen - As shahe fen was out of stock, the chef helped us to change to pasta. The serving was quite huge, with the lobster occupying the whole claypot. Lobster was chewy and juicy, pasta was creamy and chewy, flavourful as well. There were ham and mushroom etc in it.
Rose latte - There were rose petals and whipped cream at the top of the glass, helping to make the drink smoother. It was creamy and smooth, with strong tea taste.
