I hate Monday. Monday drains my head and heart, And i need food just to keep myself alive. Jap is always my first choice and this time I chose this “izakaya” on the 12/F of a commercial blg. The moment I reached the floor I didn’t expect a good jap rest cos it doesn’t look anything like one, but the food proved I was wrong. It was a family-run restaurant cos I saw a baby girl sitting quietly watching YouTube while waiting for daddy to cook and mommy to serve. A warm one. They offer a reasonable range of delice considering the size of the cafe. My attention was caught on the eel bowl! I love eel and I seldom find good eel in HK. An Daddy managed to cook one with a stone bowl. The eel was so good and it matched well with the sauce. Then of course came the sashimi and sushi! If ur a fan of Uni don’t miss the fancy cup of Uni & Roe. The uni was so soft and tender it almost melt the moment you put it on ur tongue. It didnt smell as fishy as most do but a hint of sweetness tickled my nostril and that made me order another cup just for myself. I always love toro Sushi roll so I ordered two different kinds. I love the one with the fried chips. The texture was one of a kind as the chips made a perfect match with the toro it didn’t feel too gluey.
Also worth ur attention was the list of drinks. Compared to other izakaya this one provided a huge list of drinks. I chose the butterfly pea yogurt which is like the recent hit. To me it was a bit too sweet but given my ultimately low tolerance for sweetness it should be fine for most. Overall this cafe worths a try as I Always support family-run cafe.
