After you choose the set you want from the menu, the owner, which is also the main chef will ask what are your preferences and whether there’s anything you can’t or doesn’t like to eat. I rarely go to any Omakase restaurants because I don’t eat any raw fish/ uni etc, I thought I wouldn’t have much choices under such circumstances. BUT, after this Omakase experience, I realised that I have SO much alternatives than having fish sashimi! For my 3 sashimi dishes I had: Geoduck, Arkshell clam and spit shrimp. For my sushi selection I had white shrimp, scallop, crab meat with abalone paste, seared black sea bream and a red coloured shell ( not sure what’s the name) Every piece of sashimi and sushi was very fresh and tasty!
After the sashimi and sushi, you can chose whether to have a hand roll or udon~ I chose the udon and it turn out to be a black truffle udon with caviar. It’s VERY VERY GOOD! Strongly recommend! Not to mention their soup is really good too!
Their desserts are handmade by the chefs and it’s different everyday.
Overall, me and my husband was very happy with the Omakase at Sumi and I learned that people like me ( who doesn’t eat raw fish ) can also enjoy the dining experience no less than the people who are having raw fish dishes!
