I made a reservation on the same day we planned to visit this place. I was a able to get us a table for four. Unfortunately one of our friend backed out so it was only the three of us. At first glance from the mall entrance of the place, the restaurant didn't look appealing because of the cheesy use of curtains. My friends entered the restaurant a few minutes before me and chose a table at the patio area of the restaurant. We were given a table with harbor view via the old wharf of Harbor City. However, the plants lining the exterior of the patio were too bushy. We moved to the corner where it was devoid of obstruction.
The day was cool and we had occasional breezes of wind. However, we then realized the breezes was from the a/c inside the restaurant. The opened doors of the patio do not close automatically. Women, if you are afraid of the cold, remember to avoid sitting near the corner where there's a few steps to the back road of Harbor City. However, other than that the atmosphere was wonderful. We were a bit early, so we missed the daily laser light show of Victoria Harbor.
The three of us ordered:
Skewered Chicken accompanying Mango Salad [sauce was slight sour]
Appetizer Sampler ( asparagus, sardines, Spanish silverfish, salmon and prawns) [ the sardines were scary looking according to one of us and had a tad bit too much bone]
One Dozen Assorted Raw Oysters on the Half Shells (French, American, New Zealand and Australian oysters) [very fresh, however some were a tad bit too briny due to it being fresh. Some of us weren't used to the briny taste.
Ox-Tail Lasagna [tasted great. but it would only be enough for one person]
One Pitcher of Regular Sangria [Quite flavorful]
Total = HKD 1556
The food was great and the girls I was with felt full. However, being a big-eater, I wasn't satisfied.
There was only two disappointment:
1. I was mislead by the $100-150 per head according to this website. However, I believe we ordered over the budget of most patrons.
2. The kitchen forgot two (2) of our dozen oysters. If it weren't for the beautiful lady that sat across from me, we wouldn't have noticed the missing duo.
Great food, Great experience and great company......
